Impact Summary:

As a Fabrication Lead, you will play a critical hands-on role and technical leadership in the fabrication, integration, assembly, modification, and refinement of aerospace prototypes and production hardware that mee the highest industry standards. Your work will directly influence the timely and cost-effective delivery of superior-quality aerospace solutions, supporting both commercial and DoD customers. You will collaborate closely with design and production teams, ensuring that projects are not only completed on time and within budget but also exceed customer expectations in quality and performance. Your leadership and technical skills will play a critical role in advancing our manufacturing capabilities and driving innovation in the aerospace sector.


Responsibilities:

· Lead and perform the fabrication, integration, assembly, installation, modification, and repair of aerospace prototypes, production hardware, mechanical components, and subassemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements.

· Lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities, schedules, manpower, and material requirements. 

· Interpret and apply complex engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, schematics, specifications, bills of materials, and manufacturing documentation.

· Collaborate closely with design and production teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

· Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and customer expectations.

· Implement policies and processes for production and operation to ensure compliance with company requirements in production, quality, cost, and safety.

· Provide risk management and assist teams in identifying and resolving project-related issues.

· Coordinate the work of various departments to ensure smooth and efficient production and operation.

· Lead multiple tasks simultaneously, driving projects to successful completion.

· Operate and train related personnel on all fabrication-related equipment within the manufacturing facility.

· Maintain accurate maintenance records for the manufacturing facility equipment.

· Perform quality checks using tools like calipers and scales to ensure adherence to quality standards.

· Identify and report product defects to supervisors promptly.

· Operate CNC press breaks, waterjets, manual mills, and other related fabrication equipment. 

· Manage inventory by checking stock levels and placing supply orders as needed.

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

· Conduct repairs, fabrications, modifications, and installations of mechanical components and subassemblies.

· Provide advanced technician-level fabrication, integration, and custom assembly for various aircraft.

· Support on-time delivery of customer hardware by flexibly performing additional fabrication, integration, troubleshooting, and production activities as required.

· Promote a culture of quality, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence within the fabrication function

· Perform other duties as required to meet on time deliveries.

Requirements

  

Qualifications:

· High School diploma or equivalent required.

· Associates degree, technical degree, certificate, or equivalent combination of education and relevant hands-on experience preferred or,

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics, or related discipline preferred.

· 5+ years of progressive experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, precision manufacturing, mechanical fabrication, machining, aircraft modification, or a closely related field.

· Certifications: Forklift license, welding certification, or other related discipline preferred. 

· Demonstrated experience performing hands-on fabrication, mechanical assembly, integration, installation, modification, and repair of complex mechanical components or assemblies.

· Demonstrated proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD drawings/models, specifications, work instructions, and bills of material.

· Working knowledge of GD&T, dimensional tolerancing, fits, clearances, and precision measurement techniques.

· Demonstrated experience using precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, scales, and other inspection tools.

· Proficiency operating manual fabrication and machining equipment, including manual mills, drill presses, saws, grinders, and metal-cutting equipment.

· Experience fabricating or working with metallic and/or non-metallic aerospace materials.

· Previous experience providing technical direction, mentoring, training, or lead-level support to fabrication or manufacturing personnel.

· Ability to lift, position, and manipulate materials, components, tooling, and assemblies as required to perform essential functions. 

· Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, deadline-drive aerospace manufacturing environment. 

· Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

· Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or other Microsoft Applications. 

· Must be a U.S. Citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a US Secret Security clearance.


Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; stand for extended periods. 

· Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment. 

· PPE (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots) required.

· Occasional travel may be required.

Salary Information: 

The estimated salary range for this position is $36.00-$49.52 per hour, based on the successful candidates experience, qualifications, skill set, and market conditions.
