Your role at Clorox:

We are looking for a Shopper Insights Manager who can uncover why shoppers choose, buy, and return, and translate that understanding into clear recommendations that grow our Amazon business. You will bring the Amazon shopper to life and serve as a thought partner to the Amazon Sales team and Marketing teams.

You will lead the Amazon shopper learning agenda, connecting research with behavioral and commercial data to identify growth opportunities. Your recommendations will influence assortment, pricing and value, innovation, digital content, conversion, and repeat purchase. Success means helping teams make and act on better business decisions.

In this role, you will:

  • Own and prioritize shopper and category learning plans around the business decisions that matter most for Amazon growth.
  • Uncover shopper motivations, missions, purchase drivers, and barriers, including how shoppers discover products, choose brands, and replenish across Amazon and other retail channels.
  • Integrate shopper research, syndicated data, retailer analytics, digital commerce insights, and market intelligence to explain what is happening, why it matters, and where to act.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the buyer base, improve conversion, and turn first purchases into repeat purchase and Subscribe & Save participation.
  • Translate findings into specific, prioritized recommendations that Sales and Marketing can activate across assortment, pack and price, product claims, content, merchandising, and retail media.
  • Build compelling stories and present recommendations directly to senior leaders and Amazon partners, tailoring the message to the decision and audience.
  • Partner closely with Field Sales, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Retail Media, and Data & Analytics teams to shape recommendations, support activation, and assess results.
  • Shape Amazon Annual Vendor Negotiations (AVNs), Category Strategy Reviews, Commercial Plan Reviews, and Multi-Year Planning with shopper perspectives on audiences, assortment, and value.
  • Develop forward-looking perspectives on shopper behavior, category trends, and emerging discovery pathways; use AI-enabled tools thoughtfully to accelerate learning.

What we look for:

  • 7+ years of experience in Shopper Insights, Consumer Insights, Customer Insights, Category Management, or a related field, with demonstrated ownership of shopper learning and commercial recommendations.
  • Amazon business experience required, with an understanding of how shopper behavior informs decisions on a digital retail platform.
  • Must have experience using Stackline (Beacon, Atlas and the Shopper Analytics Panel); Amazon Marketing Cloud experience is ideal.
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau to explore and communicate findings, and with market or trend sources such as Kantar, Mintel, or CRC.
  • Experience in consumer-packaged goods, with other large retailers such as Walmart, or with emerging commerce platforms such as Instacart or DoorDash.
  • Demonstrated success influencing a commercial decision through shopper insight with the ability to explain a business question, what you learned, what you recommended, how the recommendation was adopted, and the resulting impact or learning.
  • The ability to design and interpret quantitative and qualitative shopper or consumer research, and connecting it with behavioral, syndicated, or retailer data.
  • Be able to present insights and recommendations directly to retail customers and senior business leaders.
  • Have the ability to build trust across functional relationships, challenge assumptions constructively, and influence decisions without direct authority.

Essential shopper and analytical capabilities

  • Frame clear business questions, develop learning plans, test hypotheses, and select research approaches that answer the decision at hand.
  • Synthesize multiple sources into a coherent shopper story, distinguishing evidence from interpretation and making clear recommendations despite incomplete information.
  • Apply strong data interpretation and analytical judgment to shopper, category, and brand performance; assess data quality, limitations, and the strength of conclusions.
  • Working knowledge of syndicated and shopper data such as Circana, NielsenIQ, or Numerator, and the ability to learn retailer-specific platforms quickly.
  • Understand digital commerce and retail media measures and connect them to shopper behavior and commercial outcomes.
  • Simplify complex information in presentations and use Excel confidently to analyze and interpret data.
  • Partner effectively with Data & Analytics specialists on advanced analysis, measurement, and visualization, while owning the shopper interpretation and business recommendation.
