About this Position / Responsibilities
NFF Inc is currently executing two strategic digital modernization initiatives: the Web Modernization Project and the SmarTrip Mobile App 2.0 Project. Both projects are actively underway and are critical to enhancing the customer experience across NFF Inc's digital channels.
The Web Modernization Project includes complete redevelopment of the front-end experience for key web platforms, replacing the existing platform that was last significantly refreshed in 2016. While a separate vendor is responsible for front-end implementation, NFF Inc requires resources to develop, integrate, test, and deploy the supporting SmarTrip backend services and APIs needed to enable the new website functionality. The modernized platform will continue to serve as a primary digital channel for transit information, customer self-service capabilities, and SmarTrip account management.
The SmarTrip Mobile App 2.0 Project focuses on enhancing the existing iOS and Android SmarTrip Mobile application by introducing new features and improvements designed to provide a more personalized, intuitive, and user-friendly customer experience. NFF Inc requires support for application integration, development, configuration, testing, deployment, and production implementation of the SmarTrip backend components that support the mobile application and related services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and technical designs to ensure requirements are testable and complete.
- Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data for application enhancements and new functionality.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard testing tools and frameworks.
- Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing activities.
- Validate SmarTrip web, mobile, API, and backend system functionality against business requirements.
- Support testing of interfaces and integrations between SmarTrip applications and supporting systems.
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects through resolution.
- Participate in defect triage meetings and work with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Analyze application changes and determine impacts to existing testing artifacts and automation suites.
- Ensure test results meet project objectives, business requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and coordinate testing efforts with business stakeholders.
- Work closely with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and vendor teams to support deployment and release activities.
- Support continuous integration and deployment processes by executing automated and regression testing.
- Prepare testing status reports, metrics, and release readiness assessments.
- Ensure testing environments, tools, and test data are properly configured and maintained.
- Provide production validation and post-deployment testing support.
- Maintain compliance with NFF Inc security policies and complete all required security awareness training.
Qualifications
- 5 years | Required - Proficiency with relevant back-end programming languages, frameworks, tools, databases, and development platforms, including C# and .NET.
- 5 years | Required - Proficiency with software development and project management methodologies.
- 5 years | Required - Knowledge of methods, tools, and techniques used to evaluate, select, develop, test, integrate, and troubleshoot systems software and hardware.
- 5 years | Required - Demonstrated progressive responsibility in diversified technical information systems and data processing management.
- 5 years | Required - Experience developing in multi-tier application environments, including web services, APIs, clustered environments, database servers, and application platforms.
- 5 years | Desired - Hands-on experience developing General Orders Track Rights System and Site-Specific Work Plan application programs.
- Required - Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Business or Public Administration, or a related discipline.
- Desired - Experience using Jira, Confluence, TestRail, Git, and related tools in an Agile development environment.
- Desired - Master's degree in an IT-related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Desired - Demonstrated proficiency in secure coding practices and familiarity with industry standards and coding best practices.
- 11 years | Required - Candidate must qualify for a Level 4 NFF Inc position.
