We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Administrative Assistant/Scale Operator to join our team. In this role you will perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities to facilitate the efficient operation of the division. The ideal candidate will cross train as a Back-up Scale Operator to cover scale operation for leaves and vacations as needed.
Responsibilities
What You Will Do:
- Maintain weekly schedules, Saturday sign-up, employee vacations and appointments
- Replenish cashier – countdown safe and order cash
- Maintain discrepancy, cost center and production reports
- Schedule and coordinate operational and safety meetings, attend as needed
- Order office and safety supplies
- Provide excellent customer service at all times
- Cross train in all areas including scale operator, as needed
- Take picture of material, input numbers given by drivers/customers, capture gross and tare weights, choose the correct commodity of inbound and outbound loads and ensure compliant weight of outbound trucks.
- Ensure customer specifications are met when shipping outbound materials and ensure customer pricing is correct before finishing transaction.
- Effectively communicate and interact with employees, management, and customers using 2-way and CB radios.
- Organize various special projects and event planning.
Qualifications
What We Look For:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management
- Strong computer skills (working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Strong communication skills to successfully interact with employees, management, and customers
- Maintain a high level of internal and external customer service
- Clear understanding and adherence to safety regulations
- Strong writing skills to effectively complete paperwork
- Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner with attention to detail.
Nice to Haves:
- Operating knowledge of retail scale
- Experience working in JD Edwards/SAI
