Eaton’s CTO Corporate Technology Office division is currently seeking a Program Manager I. This is a hybrid role that requires candidates to reside within a 50 mile radius of one of the following Eaton facilities: Golden, CO, Menomonee Falls, WI, or Southfield, MI.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year.

Eaton Research Laboratories (ERL) is seeking a Program Manager I to support the planning and execution of technology development, research, and innovation programs. This role is responsible for managing project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables while partnering with technical teams and functional stakeholders to achieve successful program outcomes.
The Program Manager I will utilize standard project management tools, processes, and governance practices to ensure programs are executed effectively and project information remains accurate and current. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative technologies while building expertise in program management, financial planning, and portfolio governance.

Successful Candidates Will:
- Deliver assigned projects on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain accurate project plans, forecasts, and status reporting.
- Use ProPM and Power BI to support informed decision-making.
- Proactively identifiy and mitigate risks.
- Demonstrate accountability and collaboration across project teams.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and customers.
- Consistently apply ERL PMO processes and governance standards.
### Key Responsibilities:
Program Execution
- Manage assigned research and technology programs from initiation through completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, action plans, and risk registers.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to support execution against project objectives.
- Monitor project performance and communicate status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
- Assist in developing recovery plans when project performance deviates from plan.
##### Project Planning & Controls
- Develop and maintain project management plans, including scope, schedule, risks, and financial forecasts.
- Track project progress against established milestones and performance objectives.
- Support phase-gate reviews and ensure required project documentation is completed.
- Maintain project records in accordance with PMO standards and governance requirements.
Financial Management
- Develop and maintain project forecasts and spending plans.
- Monitor labor, material, and contract expenditures against approved budgets.
- Support variance analysis and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Partner with Finance and project teams to maintain forecast accuracy.
ProPM & Reporting
- Utilize ProPM to manage project schedules, risks, forecasts, and program information.
- Use Power BI dashboards and reporting tools to monitor project performance and financial health.
- Ensure project information is accurate, timely, and complete.
- Support portfolio reviews, operations reviews, and planning activities.
Risk & Opportunity Management
- Identify, document, and track project risks and issues.
- Coordinate mitigation plans with project stakeholders.
- Escalate significant risks and concerns through established channels.
- Promote proactive risk management and issue resolution.
Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare project status updates and presentation materials.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and key decisions to stakeholders.
- Build effective working relationships across technical, functional, and business teams.
- Support customer and leadership communications as needed.
Continuous Improvement
- Follow PMO standard work, templates, and methodologies.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities.
- Support consistent use of project management tools and best practices.
- Participate in PMO training and professional development opportunities.
## Qualifications:
Required Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Program Management, or related field.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in project coordination, engineering, operations, product development, research, or program management.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a cross-functional environment.
- Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management principles.
- Experience using Microsoft Project, ProPM, Clarity, or similar project management systems.
- Experience working with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certification
- Experience in a research, engineering, product development, or innovation environment.
- Experience supporting government-funded or customer-funded projects.
- Familiarity with project portfolio management and PMO governance practices.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
