Raytheon is seeking a Senior Strategy Manager to join its Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Strategy team – serving as a key adviser to senior leadership. In this high-impact role, you will partner with the SBU Strategy Lead for Raytheon’s Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) business to drive strategic insight across the portfolio, guiding mid to long-term priorities that will enhance the SBU’s competitive position, risk profile, and business outcomes.
Land & Air Defense Systems provides proven integrated air and missile defense and precision strike capabilities, ranging from advanced sensors to precision effectors. With more than 50 international partners and greater than 60% international sales, LADS is a global team committed to delivering next-generation, cross-domain solutions to counter worldwide threats. Key offerings include the Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems, next-gen LTAMDS / GhostEye radars, Stinger weapons system, Javelin weapon system, Excalibur projectile, and Coyote family of counter-UAS and loitering munitions systems
You will lead rigorous qualitative and quantitative assessments to inform the SBU long‑range plan, strategic initiatives, investments, portfolio optimization, and inorganic strategy - including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures. Partnering closely with stakeholders across product areas, business development, communications, finance, engineering, and operations, you will define ambiguous challenges, build structured strategic hypotheses, and deliver clear, executive‑ready recommendations that influence high‑impact decisions.
Success in this role requires exceptional strategic judgment, analytical depth, non-positional influence, and executive communication skills, along with a strong understanding of the global aerospace and defense landscape, customer budget cycles, and competitive dynamics. The ideal candidate operates autonomously, manages multiple concurrent workstreams, and maintains disciplined objectivity under pressure.
This onsite role is based near the following locations: Woburn, MA; Tucson, AZ; Huntsville, AL; Arlington VA; McKinney, TX; or Farmington, CT. (Relocation assistance is not available)

What You Will Do
Strategic & Financial Analysis
- Partner with the SBU Strategy Lead to develop, revise and communicate SBU strategy deliverables.
- Lead development of actionable sub-strategic business unit and product area strategies, ensuring alignment with the SBU and Raytheon priorities
- Integrate customer, geopolitical, financial, and competitive insights to shape global portfolio recommendations.
- Develop portfolio-level insights and recommendations to guide SBU decision-making.
- Build business cases, scenario models, and sensitivity analyses to evaluate strategic options and investments.
- Support assessment of mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and alliances, including strategic fit and financial implications.
Executive Communication
- Develop high-quality presentations, decision memos, and visual storytelling assets for senior leadership.
- Distill complex financial and strategic data into concise executive recommendations.
- Enable strategic decision-making through clear logic, compelling narratives, and strong visualization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner within LADS and across SBUs to understand markets, customers, and competitive environments.
- Facilitate workshops and structured discussions that drive strategic alignment, including problem framing, hypothesis development, analysis, synthesis, and executive recommendations.
- Serve as a strategic “coach” for key capture and program teams.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate strategy and analytics workflows.
- Embed industry best practices to elevate rigor, speed, and consistency of deliverables.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience.
- Experience in corporate strategy or project management.
- Experience in data analytics, data visualization, storytelling, and research, including sensitivity analysis, business case development, and market assessments.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Graduate degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Economics, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics.
- Active or transferable Top Secret and SCI clearance.
- Experience working in the defense industry.
- Experience and/or knowledge of the U.S. Department of Defense or Intelligence Community.
- Prior experience working on a corporate strategy team, in a consulting firm, or using strategic decision‑making frameworks.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
