The key purpose of the CAPEX PMO Manager role is to lead the integrated management of Capital Expenditure (CAPEX), the Technology Project Management Office (PMO), and Technology financial performance. The role is accountable for capital planning, budgeting, investment evaluation, approvals, portfolio governance, project delivery oversight, Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB), forecasting, reporting and cost management. The CAPEX PMO Manager partners with Technology Towers and key business stakeholders to ensure investments and operating expenditure align with strategic priorities, operational requirements and financial objectives, while driving efficiencies, compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- CAPEX Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement the capital expenditure strategy in line with business priorities and financial targets. Prepare annual CAPEX budgets and forecasts based on business requirements, projected growth and investment priorities. Monitor actual investment against budget and provide clear performance visibility.
- Investment Evaluation and Approvals: Evaluate and priorities capital proposals using financial analysis, feasibility assessments, return on investment calculations and risk reviews. Manage the CAPEX submission and approval process, coordinating governance forums, senior leadership approvals and project funding.
- PMO Governance and Portfolio Management: Maintain PMO standards, controls and reporting routines across Technology. Track project scope, timelines, budgets, benefits, risks, issues and dependencies. Identify deviations and coordinate corrective actions to support successful delivery.
- Vendor and Contract Management: Lead vendor sourcing and engagement for capital projects, including bid reviews and contract negotiations. Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality, cost effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, IT controls and internal policies. Prepare clear investment, portfolio and financial reports for management and senior leadership.
- Risk Management and Process Improvement: Identify delivery and financial risks, determine root causes and implement mitigation or gap-closing plans. Continuously improve and automate CAPEX, PMO, budgeting and reporting processes to strengthen efficiency, accuracy and transparency.
Technology Financial Performance and ZBB:
- Monthly Business Cycle: Complete the month-end review of Technology overheads and ZBB performance across all packages. Build the monthly Latest Estimate for submission to FP&A, coordinating PPM communities across functions and countries. Explain performance drivers, variances, risks and opportunities to senior leadership and prepare the monthly performance deck for the Value Creation Director and VP Technology.
- Annual Plans, Budgets and Forecasting: Lead the annual ZBB planning process across Technology and applicable packs, ensuring deadlines, milestones and submission requirements are met. Perform accurate package-level budget calculations and complete budget uploads in relevant planning and ERP tools, including SAP and Anaplan.
- Value Creation and Stakeholder Management: Identify savings, efficiencies and synergies with Procurement, Product Owners, Country Managers, Finance Directors, FP&A, Global Value Creation and Zone or Global Tower Leads. Lead monthly forecast close-out discussions and support senior leadership presentations in line with Zone guidelines and timelines.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum of five years' experience in an FMCG or similarly complex, fast-paced environment
- CIMA, CA(SA), MBA, CFA or PMP qualification, or progress towards a relevant professional qualification, is preferred
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint capability, with knowledge of ERP and planning systems such as SAP, Syspro and Anaplan
