Description

About the Role

The Vice President, Marketing will set the company-wide marketing strategy and lead the integrated marketing organization across brand, product marketing, content and creative, experiential marketing, web, demand generation, integrated campaigns, and sales enablement.

This leader will translate Awardco’s strategy and product vision into a differentiated market position, a clear customer narrative, and a coordinated go-to-market system that drives awareness, pipeline, revenue, adoption, and customer value. The role will balance long-term category and brand building with disciplined near-term execution and measurable business impact.

The VP of Marketing will be a close partner to the CEO and executive team and will work across Product, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and People Operations to create clarity, focus, and accountability across the customer journey.

What You’ll Do

  • Set marketing strategy and priorities: Develop and own an integrated marketing strategy aligned to Awardco’s company strategy, growth goals, product roadmap, priority markets, and customer needs. Establish clear operating rhythms, investment priorities, and success measures.
  • Clarify Awardco’s market position: Define and evolve the company narrative, category strategy, positioning, messaging, and differentiated points of view across recognition, rewards, engagement, incentives, and intelligence.
  • Lead multi-product go-to-market: Partner with Product and commercial leaders to bring new products and capabilities to market with strong audience definition, market insight, packaging and pricing input, launch planning, enablement, communications, and post-launch measurement.
  • Build a predictable growth engine: Lead demand generation, web, campaigns, marketing operations, and lifecycle programs that create qualified pipeline, improve conversion, support efficient growth, and strengthen the connection between marketing activity and revenue outcomes.
  • Elevate product marketing: Ensure customer insights, competitive intelligence, market research, analyst perspectives, and voice-of-customer feedback inform product strategy, segmentation, messaging, launches, sales stories, and customer adoption.
  • Strengthen brand and thought leadership: Build Awardco’s reputation with HR, People, and business leaders through compelling content, customer proof, executive visibility, research, community, analyst and influencer relationships, and high-quality experiences.
  • Make events and experiences strategic: Set the strategy and measurement approach for experiential marketing, including flagship events, executive programs, conferences, and other experiences that deepen relationships and contribute to business growth.
  • Partner tightly with Sales and Customer Success: Create shared go-to-market plans, account and audience priorities, sales enablement, competitive guidance, customer communications, and feedback loops that improve the full customer journey.
  • Use data to improve decisions: Establish a clear marketing measurement framework tied to pipeline, ACV, revenue, win rates, conversion, customer adoption, retention, brand health, and return on investment. Use data to make tradeoffs and continuously improve performance.
  • Build an AI-enabled marketing organization: Identify practical ways to use AI, automation, and data to improve customer insight, content and campaign effectiveness, operational efficiency, and decision quality while maintaining strong judgment and brand standards.
  • Lead and develop the team: Build a high-performing, customer-centered marketing organization. Set clear expectations, develop leaders, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and create a culture of accountability, creativity, trust, and high-quality execution.
  • Represent the customer and the market: Maintain deep relationships with customers, prospects, partners, analysts, and industry leaders. Bring external insight into executive decisions and ensure Awardco’s marketing reflects the realities of the markets we serve.

What You’ll Bring

  • 12+ years of progressive marketing, go-to-market, or related experience, including significant leadership experience in B2B SaaS or a similarly complex technology business.
  • Experience leading an integrated marketing organization across multiple disciplines, with the ability to set strategy while staying close enough to the work to drive quality and speed.
  • A track record of building or scaling a demand and pipeline engine and connecting marketing investments to measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Experience taking complex products or platforms to market, including positioning, messaging, launches, packaging and pricing partnership, enablement, and adoption.
  • Strong customer and market orientation, with the ability to turn customer insight, market research, competitive intelligence, and data into clear strategic choices.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a differentiated brand and point of view in a competitive category.
  • Experience operating as an executive partner and influencing senior leaders across Product, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and other functions.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including the ability to prioritize investments, evaluate tradeoffs, manage a meaningful budget, and improve marketing efficiency.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with a talent for making complex ideas clear, relevant, and compelling.
  • A balanced leadership style: strategic and decisive, collaborative and low-ego, ambitious and pragmatic, with the willingness to roll up your sleeves when the work demands it.
  • Experience leading through change and creating structure, focus, and accountability in a fast-moving environment.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, with sound judgment about where they can create meaningful advantage.

A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field is helpful but not required. MBA experience is a plus, not a requirement.

What Success Looks Like

  • Awardco has a clear, differentiated market position and a consistent narrative across products, audiences, channels, and regions.
  • Marketing is aligned with Product, Sales, and Customer Success around a shared go-to-market strategy and operating cadence.
  • The organization delivers measurable contribution to pipeline, ACV, revenue growth, product adoption, and efficient growth.
  • New products and capabilities launch with stronger market clarity, internal readiness, and customer adoption.
  • Awardco’s customer proof, thought leadership, events, and executive presence strengthen trust and market visibility.
  • The marketing organization is focused, well-led, data-informed, and capable of scaling with the business.
