Overview

Recovery Motivator (Duty)

East Sussex: Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week: Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract to 31st March 2028

The first conversation can change everything.

Every day, people take brave steps towards the future they want. Sometimes that starts with making a phone call, walking through a door, or asking for support for the first time.

Those moments matter.

That's why we're looking for a Recovery Motivator to join our East Sussex team. Someone who can create a warm welcome, build trust quickly and help people feel confident about what comes next.

This is more than a front-line role. It's an opportunity to be the person who helps someone feel heard, understood and supported at a time when it can make the greatest difference.

If you're someone who enjoys connecting with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment and believes in the power of possibility, we'd love to hear from you.

You're Someone Who…

You believe that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion and respect.

You enjoy working with people and bringing warmth, energy and positivity to your interactions.

You know how to listen without judgement, communicate clearly and build trust with a wide range of people.

You might already have experience in health, social care, customer service, community services, peer support or the voluntary sector. Equally, you may bring valuable lived experience and the ability to engage and inspire others through your own journey.

Most importantly, you're someone who:

  • Builds genuine connections with people from all backgrounds.
  • Sees strengths and potential where others may only see challenges.
  • Stays calm, organised and adaptable when priorities change.
  • Enjoys working as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
  • Brings empathy, curiosity and a desire to help others succeed.
  • Takes pride in making a positive difference, however big or small.

Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and any associated payments will be pro rata based on contracted  hours.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

As a Recovery Motivator within our duty team, you'll play a key role in shaping people's first experience of our service.

You'll be the friendly face, reassuring voice and trusted point of contact that helps individuals access support, understand their options and begin moving towards the goals that matter most to them.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll help create an environment where people feel respected, valued and empowered to take positive steps forward.

Your impact will include:

  • Creating welcoming and positive first experiences for people accessing our service.
  • Building trusting relationships that encourage engagement and ongoing participation.
  • Helping people access the support, advice and interventions most relevant to their needs.
  • Supporting individuals to navigate services and make informed choices about their next steps.
  • Promoting wellbeing, safety and harm reduction through compassionate and non-judgemental conversations.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Contributing to an inclusive service where every individual feels respected, heard and supported.

No two days are the same, and that's part of what makes this role so rewarding.

Career Pathway

This is more than a role where you support change. It's a place where you can continue your own journey too.

At Change Grow Live, we're committed to helping our colleagues develop careers that are fulfilling, ambitious and unique to them.

From day one, you'll have access to learning, development and support that helps you build confidence, broaden your skills and explore future opportunities.

Many colleagues who begin their careers as Recovery Motivators go on to progress into:

  • Recovery Coordinator positions.
  • Specialist intervention and engagement roles.
  • Health and wellbeing services.
  • Family and community-focused support roles.
  • Quality, training and service improvement opportunities.
  • Team Leader and operational leadership positions.

Whether your goal is to develop specialist expertise, deepen your knowledge or take your first steps into leadership, we'll help you explore what's possible and support your growth every step of the way.

Why Change Grow Live?

That's true for the people who access our services, and it's true for our colleagues too.

You'll join a team that values collaboration, kindness and innovation. A team where different perspectives are welcomed, ideas are encouraged and everyone's contribution matters.

Together, we're helping people build healthier lives, stronger connections and brighter futures. And we'll support you to build your own future too.

Alongside a rewarding career and meaningful work, you'll have access to a range of benefits, including:

  • Generous annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays.
  • A comprehensive wellbeing offer and Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Access to learning, development and career progression opportunities.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Flexible working opportunities where service needs allow.

Please note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK at the time of application. For applicants with time-limited visas, unfortunately, we are unable to support new visa applications or extensions.

Our Approach to AI and Applications

AI can be a really helpful tool when putting together your application, and we're happy for you to use it. However, what we're most interested in is you.

We want to understand your experiences, achievements and strengths, so please make sure your application reflects your own story and clearly shows how you meet the essential criteria and the impact you've made in previous roles.

There's no need to write in a particular style. The strongest applications are those that are authentic, specific and clearly demonstrate your skills, experience and potential. We look forward to learning more about you.

We reserve the right to close the vacancy early if we receive a high number of applications, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

We're excited to hear from talented candidates and may close this advert earlier than the advertised closing date if we receive a high volume of applications. We therefore encourage you to apply at the earliest opportunity.
