Job Description

As a Part Time Unarmed Medical Center Security Officer in the University City neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients at hospital affiliated with a major university. You will help maintain a welcoming, professional environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, and supporting security-related procedures. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with patients, staff, and visitors, and help identify potential concerns. Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen individuals, credentials, packages, and belongings in accordance with site procedures and applicable access requirements.
• Monitor entry points and report unusual activity, prohibited items, or access concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the surrounding perimeter, as directed by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
