Position Overview
We are seeking an ambitious, self-motivated sales professional with a "hunter" mentality to focus exclusively on new business development for our heavy-duty fuel injection and diesel component lines. This role balances on-the-road customer prospecting with on-site operations at our Elgin, SC facility. When you are not traveling to meet with fleets and distributors, you will be working alongside our internal team to manage quotes, technical cross-references, and account maintenance. Key Responsibilities
New Business Development (Primary Focus):
- New Customer Acquisition: Prospect, cold-call, and pitch heavy-duty diesel components to fleet operations, commercial repair shops, engine rebuilders, and parts distributors.
- Hunt for new opportunities and expand our customer base
- Travel 30% to 50% within assigned territory for site visits and relationship building
Technical Consultation:
- Learn fuel injection systems and diesel component specifications
- Provide accurate technical solutions to buyers using parts catalogs and cross-references
On-Site Accountability & Collaboration:
- Report in-person at Elgin facility when not traveling to ensure accountability and team integration
- Manage pipeline data in CRM and collaborate with internal teams
- Handle core-exchange tracking and account documentation
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 1–3 years B2B sales experience (industrial, automotive, or heavy equipment preferred)
- Hunter personality – self-starter who thrives on prospecting and closing new business
- Strong technical aptitude; a background in mechanics, automotive parts indexing, or engineering is highly valued
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly
- Highly organized, ambitious, and comfortable navigating long-term B2B sales cycles
Compensation & Growth Potential
- Base Salary: $50,000 – $65,000 (based on experience) plus commissions!
