A major UK organisation is delivering one of the largest IT transformation programmes in its history, replacing tills and point-of-sale systems across its estate and integrating them with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. They require an experienced Contract Project Manager to help deliver this business‑critical work.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of a POS / tills replacement project integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Plan, manage and track project delivery across multiple sites (c.110 locations with tills) within agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
Coordinate and manage internal teams and contractors across IT, operations and finance to deliver project milestones.
Own and maintain core project artefacts: project plan, RAID log, status reports and stakeholder communications.
Manage third‑party suppliers and delivery partners involved in the POS / Business Central solution and associated infrastructure.
Prepare and run key project meetings (stand‑ups, steering groups, design/review sessions), ensuring clear actions and ownership.
Identify, manage and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies across the wider transformation programme.
Work closely with business stakeholders to manage impacts of change on site staff and operations (go‑live planning, cutover, training coordination, hypercare).
Report regularly to senior programme leadership and stakeholders on progress, risks and decisions required.
Essential Experience & Skills
Proven track record as an IT Project Manager delivering complex business change / transformation projects.
Hands‑on experience delivering projects involving Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Business Central) as a core system in the solution.
Strong background in POS, tills or retail/visitor‑facing transactional systems (implementation, rollout or replacement).
Demonstrable experience managing multi‑site or geographically dispersed rollouts.
Extensive experience working with and through contractors and 3rd‑party suppliers.
Solid project management fundamentals: planning, governance, RAID management, reporting, budgeting and stakeholder management.
Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy in a mostly remote setting while maintaining strong communication and control.
Excellent communication skills, able to engage credibly with both technical teams and non‑technical business stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience delivering programmes in not‑for‑profit, membership, heritage, attractions or similar multi‑site environments.
Prior exposure to large‑scale, organisation‑wide IT transformations.
Engagement Details
6‑month contract, with potential for extension based on programme needs.
