Project Info
ACCIONA has partnered with Sydney Water and SMEC to form the Malabar System Alliance, delivering a ten-year program to expand and modernise wastewater treatment across Sydney's south and west. The first scheme upgrades the Liverpool and Glenfield Water Resource Recovery Facilities, lifting system resilience and energy efficiency. The design is expected to improve energy efficiency by up to 60 per cent. It's a rare chance to shape critical infrastructure for two million people.
About Opportunity
As Manager, Environmental and Sustainability, you'll guide all environmental and sustainability, reporting to the Project Director. You'll set the strategic direction for environmental protection, sustainability performance, climate and resource management, and regulatory compliance through design, construction, commissioning and handover, working closely with construction, engineering, procurement, land access and stakeholder teams.
Key Accountabilities
- Direct all environmental and sustainability functions across the project
- Set governance for environmental and sustainability management to Builder PSDR
- Ensure compliance with approvals, EPRs and legislation
- Oversee the Construction Environmental Management Plan and sub-plans
- Drive the Sustainability Management Plan and initiatives
- Monitor and report on performance, targets and KPIs
- Manage environmental and sustainability risk, incidents and audits
Required Skills and Competencies
- Tertiary qualification in environmental science or engineering
- Experience managing environmental/sustainability on major projects
- Strong knowledge of approvals, EPRs and legislation
- Experience managing sustainability initiatives and reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
