Costing & Sourcing Associate
Position Summary:
Allesco Industries is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Sourcing Specialist to support our sourcing and customer-quoting processes. This position works closely with Sales and Operations to obtain supplier information, calculate product costs, maintain accurate quote documentation, and help identify reliable domestic and international vendors.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working with numbers, managing detailed information, communicating across departments, and adjusting priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Learn the company's products and domestic and international vendor network.
- Review quote sheets received from the Sales team.
- Calculate and document product costs, including the cost of goods, freight, secondary operations, and other applicable expenses.
- Communicate with Sales to obtain product drawings, specifications, and additional information needed to complete quotes.
- Develop an understanding of the company's internal computer system and how it supports inventory and cost information.
- Collaborate with Operations leadership and purchasing personnel throughout the sourcing and quoting process.
- Research and evaluate prospective and approved vendors based on product quality, delivery capabilities, and pricing.
- Maintain completed quote documentation, including scanning and saving records in the company's cloud-based database.
- Support other sourcing, purchasing, and operational assignments as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- College coursework or an associate degree in business, supply chain, purchasing, or a related field.
- Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Previous experience in sourcing, purchasing, procurement, or supply management.
- Strong verbal and telephone communication skills.
- Ability to develop productive working relationships with vendors and internal team members.
- Demonstrated teamwork, problem-solving, planning, communication, initiative, and technology skills.
