We are seeking a mid-to-senior level .NET Developer to help accelerate the modernization of our software platforms. This role focuses on designing and building backend services in C# and modern .NET using microservices, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA). Our direction is toward scalable, maintainable, cloud-native services.
Strong .NET engineering experience is essential. Java experience is a nice-to-have, not a requirement. We work with messaging platforms, container orchestration, and cloud services—including Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, and Microsoft Azure—but prior experience with those specific technologies is preferred rather than mandatory.
Responsibilities
· Design, develop, maintain, and support backend services and APIs using C# and modern .NET.
· Design microservices with cohesive responsibilities, clear service boundaries, maintainable business logic, and independent evolution.
· Apply DDD concepts such as bounded contexts, aggregates, entities, value objects, domain events, and domain services.
· Build event-driven integrations that support asynchronous communication, loose coupling, and resilient processing.
· Contribute to solutions using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or comparable messaging systems.
· Help modernize legacy applications and migrate capabilities into modern .NET services.
· Apply object-oriented design, SOLID principles, design patterns, clean code, and thoughtful refactoring.
· Build RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
· Work with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server; write and optimize SQL and use ORM tools such as Entity Framework Core.
· Contribute to containerized and cloud deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure as appropriate.
· Write unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews, technical design, and architecture planning.
· Use Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern delivery workflows; troubleshoot production issues and document technical decisions.
· Collaborate on-site with developers, architects, product owners, QA, and DevOps; participate in pair programming and mentor teammates.
Required Skills and Experience
· 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong C# and modern .NET backend development skills.
· Experience building RESTful APIs and backend applications in modern .NET (for example .NET 6 or later).
· Strong grounding in object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, design patterns, testability, clean code, and refactoring.
· Understanding of microservices and service-oriented architecture, including separation of concerns and service boundaries.
· Familiarity with DDD and event-driven architecture concepts, and the ability to apply or learn them in a collaborative setting.
· Experience with relational databases, SQL, joins, indexes, constraints, and query optimization.
· Experience with an ORM such as Entity Framework Core and with automated unit/integration testing.
· Comfort with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative software delivery.
· Strong troubleshooting, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently, surface risks and blockers, collaborate in an Agile team, and share knowledge.
· Ability to work on-site in the Loveland office.
Preferred Qualifications
Architecture and Distributed Systems
· Production experience designing and implementing microservices and DDD-based bounded contexts.
· Experience with EDA, asynchronous messaging, eventual consistency, idempotency, retries, fault tolerance, and resiliency.
· Familiarity with CQRS, Outbox, Saga, or comparable distributed-system patterns.
Messaging and Integration
· Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or similar message brokers and streaming technologies.
· Understanding of producers, consumers, queues, topics, publish/subscribe, and event processing.
Cloud and Containerization
· Microsoft Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
· Cloud-native design, infrastructure as code, application configuration, and container orchestration.
Additional Technical Experience
· Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Struts, or experience migrating legacy Java applications (optional).
· NoSQL databases, Linux troubleshooting and scripting, NuGet/private package feeds.
· Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
· Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar observability tools.
· OpenAPI/Swagger and OAuth2, OpenID Connect, or JWT-based identity solutions.
· Healthcare IT, DICOM, HL7, PACS, RIS, or medical imaging systems.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a capable C#/.NET backend developer who cares deeply about software architecture and maintainability. They understand that microservices are more than small applications: successful implementation requires clear domain ownership, strong boundaries, loose coupling, and well-designed communication between services.
They are curious about DDD, event-driven systems, messaging, Kubernetes, and Azure, even if they have not yet used every technology in production. They can help modernize existing systems while building reliable services, contributing to consistent engineering practices, and mentoring others.
