Localization Product Manager

Role Purpose:

We are seeking a commercially driven and technically astute Localization Product Manager to lead the development and growth of localized industrial automation and sensor solutions for the China market.

Acting as the bridge between global product strategy and local customer requirements, you will identify market opportunities, define product roadmaps, drive localization initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products from concept to market. This is a highly visible role that combines market intelligence, product strategy, business development, and project leadership to deliver sustainable growth and competitive advantage.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research, competitive analysis, and technology trend assessments to identify growth opportunities within the industrial automation and sensor markets.

  • Engage directly with customers, distributors, and industry stakeholders to understand operational challenges, emerging requirements, and application needs across key industries.

  • Translate market insights and customer requirements into clear product strategies, product specifications, business cases, and development roadmaps.

  • Define and manage localized product portfolios, ensuring products are aligned with local market requirements, customer expectations, and business objectives.

  • Partner closely with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to drive successful product localization and commercialization projects.

  • Lead supplier qualification and introduction activities, including technical evaluations, sample validation, pilot production support, and supplier performance assessment.

  • Manage localization project timelines, resources, and stakeholder alignment to ensure products are launched on schedule, within budget, and to quality expectations.

  • Develop product pricing, positioning, channel strategies, and go-to-market plans that maximize revenue growth, profitability, and market penetration.

  • Monitor product performance, customer feedback, market share, profitability, and lifecycle metrics, driving continuous product enhancement and cost optimization initiatives.

  • Support strategic business planning by identifying new product opportunities, market expansion initiatives, and long-term growth strategies within the industrial automation sector.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of product management experience within industrial automation, sensors, manufacturing technology, or related industrial sectors.

  • Strong understanding of industrial automation technologies, including sensors, actuators, PLCs, robotics, DCS, SCADA, IIoT, and Industry 4.0 applications.

  • Proven experience managing products throughout the complete lifecycle, from market analysis and concept development through commercialization and product optimization.

  • Demonstrated success in market research, customer needs analysis, product planning, and business case development.

  • Solid knowledge of sensor technologies, industrial automation applications, manufacturing processes, and customer application scenarios.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales organizations.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance market opportunities, technical feasibility, profitability, and customer requirements.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluent English communication skills are required; experience working in international or multicultural environments will be highly advantageous.
