Want to help banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions tackle business challenges and turn change into practical solutions?As a Financial Services Consultant at BDO, you’ll work closely with clients on projects ranging from business process improvement and customer services to finance transformation and change management. You’ll combine analysis with hands-on project work while building your expertise in the financial services industry. Make your career count as a Financial Services Consultant at BDO!

What will you be doing?

As a consultant, you’ll spend much of your time working closely with your clients and colleagues. You’ll get to know their business, identify opportunities for improvement and help turn ideas into workable solutions. Your projects can cover domains such as Daily Banking, Lending, Investments, Life Insurance and Non-Life Insurance, depending on your interests, expertise and our clients’ needs. Some responsibilities we trust you with:

• Analysing business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Translating your findings into practical solutions that support your client’s strategic goals.
• Facilitating workshops to gather business and functional requirements.
• Performing impact analyses and identifying key assumptions and dependencies.
• Turning complex information into clear and structured recommendations.
• Working closely with subject matter experts, project managers and client teams to put solutions into practice.

New to Financial Services? That’s okay. You can build your industry knowledge while supporting clients with both business and change management projects. We have 5 subteams in our Financial Services departement. You will choose a subteam based on your interest and skills:

1. Finance Transformation

2. Banking Transformation

3. Insurance Transformation

4. Compliance Services 

5. Customer & Sales

What do you bring to the table?

• You have a Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or another relevant field.
• A first experience in a financial institution as a student or intern is a big plus.
• You communicate confidently in Dutch and French and have a very good command of English. You will be working for both Dutch speaking clients as French speaking clients from the start, so having a good level from the get go is required.
• You enjoy analysing complex challenges and explaining your recommendations in a clear and practical way.
• You take initiative, spot opportunities for improvement and help move projects forward.
• You’re interested in working with clients in the financial services industry across Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia. Your home office will be Zaventem.
