Do you enjoy helping people? Then you belong here. We currently have an excellent claims professional career opportunity available. Join our Home Depot Short-Term Disability team. The Ability Analyst, quickly investigates claims to determine if the insured person qualifies for short-term benefits and works with them on a treatment plan to return to work as soon as responsibly possible. The Ability Analyst supports our mission of helping our customers rebuild their lives after an unexpected event or illness happens while following corporate claim standards, policies and procedures, and statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.
Work Arrangement:
The ideal candidate will be located within commuting distance of one of our preferred office locations in Sunrise, FL, Lake Mary, FL, or Hartford, CT and will work a hybrid schedule, with an expectation of being onsite three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who are not located near one of these office locations may be considered for a remote work arrangement based on business needs; however, hybrid candidates are strongly preferred.
Training Hours: Core Business Hours
Work Hours After Training: 8am – 4:30pm (local standard time)
Travel Requirements: As part of the multi-week new hire training program, you may be required to travel out of state for up to two (2) weeks. All travel expenses are paid for by The Hartford.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by consistently meeting the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment while serving as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, gathering and communicating information related to Short-Term Disability claims.
- Apply critical thinking, analytical skills, and mathematical aptitude to evaluate information, exercise sound judgment, and reach appropriate conclusions.
- Leverage business acumen and technical expertise to make informed decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment, with appropriate management guidance.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team environment and support Group Benefits Claims' Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and business objectives.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1+ years of customer service experience required
- 1+ years of claims experience preferred
- Medical terminology experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a high level of quality and accuracy while meeting productivity expectations in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to thrive in a structured team environment
- Ability to excel in a high-volume, ever-changing environment
- Readily embraces change and champions innovation
Additional Information (Training Requirements):
As a condition of employment, you will be required to successfully complete a multi-week New Hire Training Course and, upon completion, obtain a passing score on the final course assessment. Continued employment with The Hartford is contingent upon you successfully passing the exam(s) within 30 business days from the completion of the New Hire Training.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$46,222- $73,089The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
