Description
Your Role
We’re looking for an excellent creative writer with original ideas, a sense of humour and great visual taste to shape how Blinq shows up online.
As our Creative Strategist focused on organic social, you’ll own day-to-day content across LinkedIn, X, Instagram and TikTok for our B2B and B2C software and direct-to-consumer physical products. You’ll also create content for our executives, helping each person build a distinctive voice and a reason for people to follow.
You’ll notice things, make unexpected connections and turn good ideas into work people read, watch and share. This is an early-career opportunity with real ownership, regular feedback and support from the Head of Marketing and our creative team.
What You’ll Do
- Come up with ideas worth making. Develop posts, recurring series, mini campaigns and creative projects that tell Blinq’s story. Know who each idea is for and what it should achieve.
- Create content across the customer journey. Write posts, captions, carousels and video scripts that build awareness, support consideration and conversion, and encourage adoption and retention. Adapt the voice, format and message to each platform.
- Get close to our audiences. Explore tech companies, benchmark brands and online communities. Learn the conversations, language and problems that matter to our customers, including audiences that are new to you.
- Move quickly on culture. Spot emerging trends and conversations, judge whether they fit our brand and audience, and bring an original angle to timely content.
- Bring the product to life. Stay close to releases and how customers use Blinq. Find fresh, useful and unexpected ways to tell stories about new and existing features.
- Build executive media brands. Get to know our leaders’ views, experiences and voices. Develop posts and recurring formats that give each person a distinctive point of view.
- Own an interesting content calendar. Plan, coordinate and publish a varied mix of ongoing stories, launches, experiments and spontaneous moments. Consider how the work fits together across the feed.
- Help make the work look great. Source visual references, write clear briefs and give thoughtful feedback to motion designers, brand designers and our content producer. Make simpler assets yourself using AI tools, Canva or iPhone footage.
- Test, learn and improve. Explore platform behaviour and test hooks, formats and ideas. Measure each piece against its purpose, from reach, shares and watch time to traffic or sign-ups, and use the results to guide what comes next.
- Work with creators. Help identify and brief influencers or creators for occasional collaborations that fit the audience and idea.
Room for Your Own Ideas
That could mean taking a camera onto the street to ask people about their most awkward introductions, testing wonderfully odd ways to use Blinq, or launching a weekly meme series about networking. If you’ve got an idea for a good story, we want you to pitch it and help make it happen.
What You’ll Bring
Years of experience matter less than how you write, think and create. Graduates and people with personal projects, freelance work or unconventional backgrounds are welcome.
- Excellent creative writing. You find a fresh angle, write with personality and make a product interesting. You have a sense of humour and know when to use it.
- Curiosity about internet culture. You enjoy discovering what’s happening online and finding your way into new communities. You can learn an unfamiliar audience’s world quickly.
- Taste and brand instinct. You recognise strong writing and visuals, source useful references and explain why an idea fits. You care about the overall story a brand tells.
- Strategic thinking and openness to data. You can explain who an idea is for, why it might work and how you would judge the result. You’re willing to change your mind.
- Drive and follow-through. You bring ideas without waiting to be asked, move quickly and keep projects organised. You take feedback well and care about making the next piece better.
How You’ll Work and Grow
You’ll work closely with the Head of Marketing to set priorities and develop your judgement, alongside our motion and brand designers, content producer and paid creative strategist. You’ll own the day-to-day work with regular feedback and creative support.
This is a chance to build a career across brand, content and product marketing, becoming a confident representative of Blinq. Over time, there may be scope to explore longer-form editorial, interviews or a podcast.
What Success Looks Like
- A consistent, varied content calendar with a clear audience and purpose behind each piece.
- Writing and creative ideas that give people a reason to notice, follow and engage with Blinq.
- Distinctive executive content grounded in each leader’s real views and experiences.
- Clear briefs and productive collaboration with the creative team.
- Evidence that audience feedback and performance results are improving the next round of work.
