Overview
The Labor Coordinator Assistant is responsible for facilitating labor coordination in conjunction with Human Resources, Management and Supervision throughout the region.
Responsibilities
- Attends project staff meetings and assembles labor projections to track man power needs for the overall site.
- Reviews current & future manpower needs by building, then determines moves for the entire project with the Operations Manager (Supervision & Labor).
- Tracks the movement of labor amongst each project.
- Scores current employees safety and production results to track which employees will be retained and which will be dismissed.
- Maintains & updates project labor schedules for impacts.
- Attends and participates in weekly superintendent meetings and monthly financial meetings.
- Regularly review project manpower loaded charts and schedules.
- Attends project Kick-Off meetings to identify future project labor needs.
- Compares upcoming project needs to that of existing schedules to begin pre-assembling workforces and recruiting plans.
- Develops and executes labor needs for both local and remote projects.
- Enters data in company HR portal for changes in pay and allowances.
- Travels to remote markets to establish relationships with schools, suppliers, labor companies, job fairs, and any other sources for future recruiting.
- Performs interviews while in remote markets.
- Hiring Process:
- Coordinates and oversee all non-union labor.
- Organizes and manages in-house orientations for field new-hires.
- Assists in the formation of employee orientation and training materials by position.
- Field training certifications:
- Develops, coordinates and implements field training certifications, processes and manuals.
- Sets up Certifications for items below with the Local Union or Vendor as applicable:
- Weld testing
- Silver Solder and Soft Solder
- Ground Pipe System
- Refrigeration Piping and Joints
- PVC Joints
- Works with superintendents on evaluating field performance.
- Establishes plan with superintendents to correct/improve field employee performance.
- Interviews field employees in conjunction with recruiters to ensure employee skillset is consistent with resume and market rates.
- Assists superintendents in recognizing key performers and providing necessary tools for advancement.
- Works with superintendents to establish continuous/ongoing training which includes the following:
- Scheduling
- Daily reports
- 4 week look ahead
- Labor forecasting
- Pre-planning
- Production evaluation
- Company process/procedure
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of previous experience in all facets of managing labor and reporting as well as diversity outreach and compliance strategies.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe, Blue Beam etc.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Pay Range
