Job Description

Are you a trusted advisor who can shape climate strategy at the highest levels of a global business? Can you bring credibility, senior stakeholder engagement, and sharp climate analysis together to accelerate the LEGO Group's very ambitious decarbonisation agenda?

Come join our team!

Core Responsibilities

You will establish and drive the LEGO Group's low carbon innovation pipeline - identifying, prioritising, and unlocking the most impactful decarbonisation opportunities - while helping shape and deliver the roadmap towards our near-term Science Based Target and 2050 net zero target.

In this pivotal role, you’ll source, evaluate, and mature carbon reduction levers to ensure they are credible, measurable, and delivery-ready. Partnering with senior leaders and technical specialists, you’ll build the case for action, navigate competing priorities, and translate complex climate insight into clear recommendations for top decision-makers. You may lead the analysis, or else act as a critical friend and sparring partner to executive stakeholders.

Furthermore, you will:

  • Design, establish and drive the low carbon innovation and evaluation pipeline - operating the frameworks, governance, and criteria used to prioritise opportunities across commercial, technical, and sustainability dimensions.
  • Oversee the resulting portfolio of high-impact decarbonisation initiatives, working with project leads to orchestrate them from idea, through evaluation, to hand-off for delivery - ensuring rigor, pace, and clear decision points, and using robust metrics to track and communicate expected carbon reductions across defined investment horizons.
  • Prepare high-quality, concise materials for senior executives, including C-suite and Board audiences, that inform major strategic and investment decisions.
  • Drive and manage the change necessary to deliver our low carbon outcomes, across - and in partnership with - the organisation. You will provide clear global parameters, whilst seeing the bigger picture of what is needed to support local ownership.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships across Operations, Product, Procurement, Finance, Commercial, and Communications - navigating trade-offs and aligning stakeholders behind a shared decarbonisation agenda.
  • Commission, interpret and challenge carbon analysis, scenarios, and abatement economics, using this alongside other technical data to support balanced commercial decisions.

Play your part in our team succeeding

Join the Global Climate Strategy & Analysis team! We drive the LEGO Group's GHG reduction strategy and roadmap, enabling and tracking progress toward our near-term Science Based Target and 2050 Net Zero Target. We also deliver our carbon reporting, and all corporate-level analysis to guide decision-making and investment.

Do you have what it takes?

You will bring extensive experience across climate strategy, decarbonisation, sustainability, or low carbon innovation – predominantly in-house within a large international company - with a science, economics, engineering, physical geography or similar background.

In addition:

  • Demonstrated experience establishing and running innovation and evaluation pipelines that prioritise opportunities against commercial, technical, and sustainability criteria.
  • Comfortable executing corporate sustainability strategy in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and complex environment - able to identify the key questions and bring structure, momentum, and clear thinking where others see uncertainty.
  • Proven track record engaging senior executives, including C-suite and Board-level audiences, through clear, compelling, data-driven materials.
  • Build trusted relationships quickly and holding ground amid competing priorities across sustainability, finance, operations, and communications.
  • Experience of successfully driving change in a corporate context.
  • Strategic mindset paired with pragmatism - comfortable moving between long-term vision and near-term execution.
  • Strong numeracy skills, with the ability to interpret and test the credibility of strategic-level climate analysis - interpreting and challenging carbon data (e.g. GHG footprinting and/or lifecycle assessment).
