The Sr Designer, Printed Wiring Board is responsible for designing, developing, and documenting complex printed wiring board layouts supporting Masimo's medical device technologies. This role partners cross-functionally with Engineering teams to deliver high-performance, manufacturable electronic hardware from concept through production while serving as a technical resource for PCB design standards and best practices.


This position reports to the Sr Manager, Technology Board and is part of the R&D Hardware Technology Boards team located in Irvine, CA and will be an on-site role.   


In this role, you will have the opportunity to:  

  • Design and develop complex multilayer printed wiring board layouts supporting new product development and sustaining engineering. 
  • Optimize board designs for electrical performance, manufacturability, reliability, cost, and product quality. 
  • Develop and maintain PCB design documentation, engineering releases, and manufacturing deliverables. 
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Test (DFT), and applicable IPC standards throughout product development.

The essential requirements of the job include: 

  • 5+ yrs of printed wiring board (PCB/PWB) design experience in a product development environment
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Proficiency with PCB CAD tools (e.g., PADS, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or equivalent)
  • Experience designing multilayer, high-density, and mixed-signal circuit boards 
  • Knowledge of IPC standards, PCB manufacturing processes, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

  • Experience in medical devices or other regulated industries
  • Experience with rigid-flex PCB design, HDI technologies, and high-speed digital layouts
  • Familiarity with signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI, and mechanical integration 
  • Experience with database maintenance

The annual salary range  for this role is $95,000 - $130,000.  This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.  


This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

Bonus / Incentive Pay  

10% of annual base salary   

This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay.  This is the target earnings as % of base annual salary, subject to objective eligibility criteria and performance conditions as set out in the applicable scheme terms and conditions.
