Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Pain Management

Position: Full Time Advanced Practice Provider (APP)

Department: Pain Management - Columbiana       

Shift: 5 Days/Week, 8 Hour Shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Evaluation: Conduct thorough physical exams, review medical histories, and evaluate functional limitations.
• Diagnosis & Treatment: Implement pain management plans for musculoskeletal, neuropathic, and spine-related conditions.
• Medication Management: Prescribe safe pharmacological treatments, including controlled substances, in accordance with state and federal laws, including mandatory compliance with the Ohio Automated Rx Reporting System (OARRS) and supervising/collaborating physician protocols.
• Interventional Support: Assist or independently perform (as authorized by delegation, training, and state scope of practice) interventional procedures such as joint injections or trigger point injections under the direction of the supervising or collaborating physician.
• Patient Education: Instruct patients on non-pharmacological therapies, lifestyle modifications, and risk management for long-term relief.
• Care Coordination: Work alongside multidisciplinary teams (physical therapy, behavioral health) to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Master’s or Doctoral degree as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN-NP)
  • For Physician Assistants: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (PA-C).
• Certification/License:
  • Active, unencumbered Ohio Board of Nursing license (NP) or State Medical Board of Ohio license (PA);
  • Current national board certification: ANCC or AANP (NP); or NCCPA (PA).
• Credentials: Active DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain) and active OARRS registration.
• Experience: Prior clinical experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or acute care is preferred.
• Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent interpersonal communication, and proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
