Born in Dubai, we curate a unique portfolio of extraordinary investments, experiences and assets to generate meaningful outcomes. The investments we make are strategically chosen and thoughtfully nurtured, mirroring Dubai’s ambition, spirit and energy. As Shamal Holding continues to grow, we’re in search of an Assistant Manager – Enterprise Risk Management. In this role, you will enable consistent, forward-looking management of enterprise risk by coordinating the Group ERM framework, translating risk information into clear management insight and supporting risk owners to implement effective mitigation. The role provides reliable analysis and governance discipline across the risk cycle, while influencing stakeholders through evidence, facilitation and practical guidance.
Responsibilities
- An accurate and current enterprise risk profile is maintained, with material risks, interdependencies and changes clearly identified and prioritised.
- Risk appetite measures and key risk indicators provide timely visibility of exposures, breaches and emerging trends for management action.
- Risk reporting is concise, evidence-based and delivered to agreed governance timelines, enabling informed discussion and decision-making.
- Risk owners maintain practical mitigation plans with clear accountability, milestones and escalation of overdue or ineffective actions.
- Business units apply the ERM framework consistently, supported by proportionate guidance, facilitated risk workshops and quality review.
- Emerging, geopolitical and regulatory risks are assessed and translated into relevant scenarios, implications and recommended responses.
- Risk data, dashboards and GRC tools are improved to strengthen data quality, traceability, efficiency and management insight.
- Risk awareness is embedded through practical communications, targeted learning and an effective network of risk champions.
- Cross-functional projects incorporate risk considerations early, with dependencies and control requirements clearly articulated.
- The Executive Director is supported with sound analysis, meeting materials and appropriate representation in delegated forums.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant certification such as IRM, ISO 31000, CRMA, CIA, FRM, PRM, CERA or GRCP is advantageous.
- 7-9 years of progressive experience in enterprise risk, governance, audit, assurance or a related discipline.
- Experience coordinating risk assessments, maintaining enterprise risk information and producing management-level risk reporting.
- Practical knowledge of recognised ERM frameworks, risk appetite, KRIs, controls, mitigation planning and GRC systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex information, facilitate senior stakeholder discussions and influence outcomes without direct authority.
