The Fleet Specialist provides hands-on field support for Crescent Energy's fleet program. Working closely with field leaders, drivers, and the Fleet Supervisor, this role helps keep vehicles safe, available, properly equipped, and maintained in accordance with Crescent vehicle standards.
The Fleet Specialist coordinates spare vehicle checkouts, maintenance, roadside assistance and towing, vehicle upfitting, and vendor support. This role also helps ensure telematics, camera equipment, and other in-vehicle technology are installed, operating properly, and escalated for timely resolution when issues arise.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Fleet Support & Vehicle Availability
- Work directly with field leaders and teams to coordinate spare vehicle checkouts, returns, assignments, and vehicle readiness.
- Perform routine field checks of assigned and spare vehicles to verify condition, required equipment, cleanliness, documentation, and compliance with Crescent vehicle standards. Report concerns and coordinate follow-up.
- Assist drivers and field leadership with day-to-day fleet questions and direct issues to the appropriate internal team or vendor for resolution.
- Maintain accurate records for vehicle locations, spare vehicle activity, driver assignments, and field fleet needs.
Maintenance, Roadside Assistance & Towing
- Schedule and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance through fleet management provider and approved service providers when needed, minimizing downtime and disruption to field operations.
- Monitor service needs and help ensure vehicles are maintained on schedule and in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and Crescent standards.
- Coordinate roadside assistance, towing, and related repair activity when needed; communicate status and next steps to drivers, and field leaders.
- Follow up on open repairs, service delays, repeat issues, and vehicle downtime until they are resolved or appropriately escalated.
Telematics, Camera & Vehicle Equipment Support
- Verify telematics, cameras, and other specified vehicle equipment are installed correctly, functioning properly, and assigned to the appropriate vehicle and driver records.
- Identify and report device, connectivity, or equipment issues. Coordinate troubleshooting, replacement, or installation support with vendors and internal partners.
- Assist with vehicle upfitting, telematic devices, accessories, and other field equipment needs. Confirm that completed work and records meet company requirements.
- Support fleet rollouts, vehicle moves, and equipment changes by confirming installations, documentation, and field readiness.
Vendor Coordination & Program Compliance
- Help field teams use approved or preferred service providers and escalate gaps in service or provider availability to the Fleet Supervisor.
- Support field adoption of fleet management providers maintenance, fuel, roadside assistance, and related fleet services.
- Guide drivers and field personnel on practical fleet procedures, including maintenance requests, spare vehicle use, fuel controls, and vehicle standards.
- Document recurring field issues and recommend process improvements that improve safety, vehicle uptime, cost control, and the driver experience.
Education / Experience:
- 3+ years of fleet, vehicle maintenance, transportation, field operations, or related experience, preferably in upstream oil and gas or another multi-location operating environment.
- Hands-on experience coordinating vehicle maintenance, repairs, roadside assistance, towing, or fleet support is preferred.
- Experience with fleet management systems, telematics, in-cab camera programs, and vehicle equipment or upfitting is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical, automotive, logistics, or business coursework is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Practical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair coordination, roadside assistance, towing, and safe fleet operations.
- Ability to work effectively with Superintendents, drivers, vendors, and internal support teams in a field-based environment.
- Working knowledge of vehicle telematics and camera systems, including basic installation verification and issue identification.
- Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail when managing multiple vehicles, vendors, and service needs.
- Ability to communicate clear status updates and escalate issues promptly when service, safety, or availability is affected.
- Commitment to Crescent vehicle standards, safe driving, excellent customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile applications; experience with Holman, Geotab, or GoFocus Plus is a plus.
- Ability to travel regularly to field locations and safely perform vehicle inspections and light fleet-support tasks.
