About the role

You will be the first person visitors meet and the person everyone relies on to keep the site safe. As a Security Guard at Titan Secure Inc, you will protect people and property at our residential location in Hempstead.

We are looking for someone dependable, observant and calm under pressure, with a customer-service mindset. New to security? We will consider motivated candidates who are willing to complete New York State licensing.

What you'll do

• Patrol the property on foot and check doors, gates, lighting and alarms
• Staff the front desk or gate: greet visitors, check ID, sign guests in and issue passes
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems and respond to alerts
• Control access for employees, contractors, deliveries and vehicles
• Respond to incidents, disturbances and emergencies, and call police, fire or EMS when needed
• Write clear daily activity logs and incident reports
• Spot and report safety hazards, suspicious activity and policy violations
• Give directions and help to employees, tenants, customers and visitors
• Follow site post orders and company procedures at all times

Requirements

What you need

• Valid New York State Security Guard Registration Card, or the 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training certificate and willingness to register before your first shift
• Completion of the 16-Hour On-the-Job Training course within 90 days of hire, and the 8-Hour Annual In-Service course each year
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Able to pass the fingerprinting and background check required for state registration
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Clear spoken and written English for radio calls and incident reports
• Able to stand and walk for most of a shift, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Reliable transportation to Hempstead and punctual attendance
