Training Solution Analyst

Be at the forefront of transforming British Army training.

About us:

At OMNIA® Training, we’ve brought together some of the UK’s most innovative defence training organisations under one powerful mission: to transform the British Army’s training system and create the best-trained Army in the world.

OMNIA are redefining the British Army’s collective training. To do that, we are looking for the best and brightest minds from across the UK. We are backed by British innovation and powered by world-class experts, like you. OMNIA is at the heart of the UK’s bold Land Industrial Strategy.

This is more than a job — it’s a mission. You will be part of a high-impact, collaborative environment, where we expect everyone to live the values and standards of the British Army. Every person in our team plays a critical role in delivering OMNIA’s vision; designing, delivering, and transforming collective training so the British Army is ready to fight and win.

You’ll work in a matrix organisation and report operationally through OMNIA Training and functionally through the Systems Solutions Lead. Ultimately, you’ll work for the British Army, championing innovation, and helping shape the future of military collective training.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Analysis and Capability Development

•Provide subject matter expertise on British Army training, collective training and readiness, ensuring training solutions support operational outputs and force generation requirements.

• Analyse Army training needs, operational lessons, doctrine and training performance information to identify opportunities for capability improvement.

• Support the development of innovative collective training solutions that enhance preparedness, readiness and operational effectiveness.

• Conduct training needs analysis, operational analysis and gap analysis across capability, service provision and Defence Lines of Development (DLOD).

• Translate Army user requirements into clear, actionable requirements for engineering, architecture and delivery teams.

Training Systems and Simulation Integration

• Support the integration of training, simulation and digital systems within the wider Army training enterprise.

• Work with engineers, architects and technical teams to ensure military training requirements are embedded within training platforms and solutions.

• Evaluate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) solutions to determine suitability for Army training use cases.

• Contribute to the development of future synthetic, virtual and simulation-enabled training capabilities.

• Assess interoperability, integration, user experience and operational effectiveness of training and simulation systems.

Requirements Management and Solution Development

• Lead or support workshops, interviews and stakeholder engagement activities to capture and refine training requirements.

• Produce requirements documentation, use cases, acceptance criteria, business process models and operational scenarios.

• Conduct option assessments, feasibility studies and trade-off analyses in support of solution development.

• Support delivery teams operating within Agile and hybrid delivery frameworks.

• Ensure solutions align with Defence, Army and programme architecture principles and standards.

• Any other duties required to meet the needs of the programme.

Defence Procurement and Competitive Activities

• Support defence procurement, acquisition and capability development activities.

• Contribute to business case development in accordance with HM Treasury Five Case Model principles.

• Support bid and pursuit activities through requirements analysis, solution definition, training concept development and customer engagement.

• Contribute training and military expertise to competitive opportunities, ensuring proposed solutions are credible, achievable and aligned to customer needs.

• Assist in evaluating value for money, risk, benefits and operational outcomes associated with proposed solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a trusted interface between military users, programme teams, architects, engineers and industry partners.

• Present complex concepts and recommendations clearly to commanders, senior leaders and technical stakeholders.

• Facilitate workshops and working groups to develop shared understanding of requirements, risks and priorities.

• Build strong relationships across Army, MOD and industry communities.

Who we are looking for:

We’re after individuals who want to serve. You’ll have a mission focus, and the enthusiasm and drive to ‘get things done’. You’ll want to work in collaboration with other defence training organisations, and the British Army. You won’t let bureaucracy get in the way of what needs to be done, you’ll learn lessons and share these lessons across the team. You won’t necessarily have a military background, but you’ll understand what it means to serve and to put the mission first.

We’re looking for a curious, detail-oriented Training Solution Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about unlocking the value of data to improve Army training outcomes, with a strong ability to interpret datasets and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. They should be comfortable collaborating with engineers and architects, and contributing to the evolution of innovative, secure, and scalable solutions. A proactive mindset, eagerness to explore emerging technologies, and commitment to data integrity and governance are essential. This role requires a systems-thinking mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to work across engineering teams in a complex and evolving environment.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Service in the British Army, or significant experience supporting British Army training programmes.

Minimum 5 years' experience within military training, collective training, training capability development or training systems environments.

Strong understanding of Army training doctrine, collective training methodologies and readiness requirements.

Experience working with simulation, synthetic training environments, training management systems or mission rehearsal capabilities.

Experience integrating training solutions with wider enterprise or operational systems.

Proven experience conducting requirements elicitation, analysis, decomposition and management.

Experience supporting defence acquisition, procurement or capability development programmes.

Understanding of DLOD, Defence capability development and MOD governance processes.

Experience conducting feasibility studies, option analysis and business case development.

Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering and delivery teams.

Experience engaging and influencing military stakeholders at all levels.

Familiarity with JIRA, DOORS or equivalent requirements management tools.

Security cleared or capable of obtaining SC clearance.
