Industry/ Organization Type: Waste Management & Materials Recovery
Position Title: R&D Engineer (Waste & Process Development)
Working Location: Tuas (Company transportation provided)
Working Hours: 5 days (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Salary Package: Basic Salary + AWS + Retention Bonus + Incentive + Transport Allowance
Duration: Permanent Role
Key Responsibilities
Develop, evaluate, and optimize waste treatment, handling, and recovery processes to ensure technical feasibility, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to understand waste sources, identify opportunities, support project development, and execute pilot trials.
Identify, assess, and implement new technologies and solutions, including working with external partners such as universities, research institutes, and technology providers.
Establish and enhance laboratory capabilities, including process development and analytical methods to support R&D and operational needs.
Drive continuous improvement by optimizing existing processes and introducing alternative treatment methods where appropriate.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, documentation standards, and safety, health, and environmental requirements while maintaining proper laboratory practices.
Support the development of handling solutions for complex or high-value waste streams and contribute to business growth through new initiatives and facility planning.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies and proactively introduce relevant innovations.
Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience in areas such as specialty chemicals, oil & gas, or water treatment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
Good analytical and communication skills
Ability to perform visual inspection and distinguish colour variations in laboratory or process work
