Job Summary:

The Bartender goes above and beyond to provide friendly, responsive service to ensure an outstanding bar experience for our members and guests. To ensure our members have an outstanding bar experience at St. Louis Club. The Bartender will collaborate with every department to achieve the club’s strategic vision while maintaining a high level of service to its members.

We are looking for a passionate Bartender. We are looking for a leader that can drive business results while driving our Club culture and values forward. Imagine a top-of-the-line professional who excels in detail-oriented service, member engagement, POS (point of sale) systems operations, and tending bar duties. You’ll be responsible for the preparation and serving of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages as well as the cleanliness and organization of the bar area. The perfect bartender has a strong background in classic cocktails. A passion for whiskey. Excellent communication skills. Must be able to juggle multiple tasks. As the leader of Saint Louis Club this individual will leverage resources to increase member engagement, energize our team and set new standards for our Club’s success. Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with members and ensure consistent professional behavior and civility.
• Make recommendations you genuinely feel members specifically will enjoy
• Answer questions about our beverages and other club functions and/or upcoming events.
• Order drinks from members, place orders in our POS and mix/ pour drinks as members and guests’ request.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies as needed. Must keep the bar organized, stocked and clean.
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required to maintain an organized/clean bar area.
• Maintain clean bar areas and adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.   
• Monitor and observe members bar experience. Ensure members are satisfied with their drinks and service.
• Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
• Prepare final bill with chit to member/guest, confirm the member number or signature and charge the bill to the appropriate member account.
• Be ready and willing to assist fellow bartenders as situations arise, as well as clearing and resetting the bar.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the bar as directed by your captain/supervisor.
• You may be required to work more than one shift with breaks (more than 12 hours per day).

Required Skills/Abilities

• Prior bartending or hospitality experience is encouraged but not a requirement.
• Knowledge of the different types of spirits and non-spirits, and how to recommend them to clients.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with others and work quickly and efficiently.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
