About ACCIONA
ACCIONA delivers complex, large-scale infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand, including rail, road, water and defence projects. In South Australia, our work includes the Adelaide Desalination Plant and the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant. Our teams work across the full project lifecycle, from tender and design through construction, operation and maintenance.
About the Opportunity
As Design Manager, you will join ACCIONA’s Adelaide design management team, reporting to the Senior Design Manager. You will cover all aspects of design management, including technical design review, cost planning, consultant management, temporary works management and the client interface. You will analyse constructability, address design flaws and construction issues, and lead cross-disciplinary collaboration. You will also mentor junior engineers and work with local experts, suppliers and consultants. This role gives you broad scope and direct client exposure.
Key accountabilities for the position will be:
- Lead technical review of design for accuracy and constructability
- Manage design consultants and collaborate with local experts and suppliers
- Manage cost planning for design work across projects
- Manage the client interface on design matters
- Identify and address design flaws and construction issues
- Manage temporary works as part of design delivery
- Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-disciplinary collaboration
Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Structural preferred)
- Experience in design management, including consultants and temporary works
- Understanding of Australian engineering standards and practices
- Construction experience is viewed favourably
