Phlebotomist I

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.22 - $27.87 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Position: Phlebotomist I
  • Location: Swedish Hospital
  • Status: Part Time, 12 hours
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 5am – 9am, rotating weekends and holidays

What you will do:

• The Phlebotomist I will perform a variety of routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by the Manager/Director.
• Responsible for ordering tests into the Laboratory and Hospital (LIS/HIS) computer systems and documenting Lab receipt of specimens.
• Includes minor processing of various laboratory specimens.
• For inpatients, ensures the proper wristband has been applied prior to scanning with Soft ID handheld device.
• Collects blood samples for specific tests ensuring volume is adequate and correct tubes are utilized.

What you will need:

• Diploma or Vocational Degree Required Or High School Preferred
• Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred.
• Outgoing compassionate personality.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated skills in phlebotomy, exceptional customer service skills as well as the ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• CPR BLS - American Heart Association (AHA) required and PBT(ASCP) Preferred
