JOB SUMMARY

Grow your career with a company built on Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, and Stewardship. As a UAS Inventory Measurement Tech III at Dolese, you will use unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and geospatial technology to capture, process, and validate physical inventory measurements across Dolese's Construction Aggregate and Ready Mix operations. This role plans and conducts recurring inventory flights, processes aerial data using platforms such as Propeller and ArcGIS, and provides accurate, timely measurement data to support inventory reporting and connected business systems. Working closely with Plant Operations, SCADA, and Accounting, this role helps establish consistent measurement practices, improve data integrity, and expand the use of automated data-acquisition technology across Dolese operations.

WHY JOIN US

  • Stability & Legacy: Be part of a company with more than a century of success, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to our employees.
  • Growth Opportunities: Build expertise in UAS technologies, geospatial analytics, inventory measurement, and automated data-acquisition processes while supporting consistent measurement practices across Dolese operations.
  • Impactful Work: Support inventory accuracy and operational decision-making by supporting consistent measurement practices and providing trusted inventory data across the organization.
  • Supportive Culture: Our employees support one another and our customers through our service values: Champion Kindness, Incite Enthusiasm, Build Relationships, and Provide Innovative Solutions. We value collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct UAS flights over aggregate stockpiles and Ready Mix material yards in full compliance with FAA Part 107 regulations and site safety requirements.
  • Manually pilot RTK-enabled drones over stockpiles and material yards to capture high-accuracy, georeferenced aerial imagery and measurement data.
  • Support the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing operation of autonomous UAS solutions, including recurring mission scheduling, remote flight monitoring, connectivity, and related field hardware.
  • Establish and maintain ground control points and independent checkpoints to validate the positional accuracy of inventory measurement data and related geospatial outputs.
  • Process aerial imagery into orthomosaics, digital surface models, and point clouds to calculate stockpile volumes and support inventory measurement activities.
  • Apply approved material-density information and other established conversion factors when translating volumetric measurements into inventory quantities.
  • Compare UAS measurement results with available inventory records, identify potential discrepancies, and partner with Operations and Accounting to support investigation and resolution.
  • Build and maintain inventory measurement records and geospatial data in ArcGIS, and produce maps, reports, and dashboards for Operations and Accounting stakeholders.
  • Support the development, documentation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures for flight planning, data capture, processing, and measurement to support consistent and repeatable measurement practices across sites.
  • Prepare and maintain measurement data for use in inventory, reporting, and other connected business systems, following established data-quality and integration standards.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and other UAS users to align technology, software, and flight practices while maintaining primary responsibility for inventory-related data capture and measurement.
  • Maintain the UAS fleet, including pre- and post-flight inspections, battery and propeller management, sensor calibration, and firmware/software updates.
  • Maintain compliance with FAA regulations, airspace authorizations (LAANC), and waiver requirements while keeping accurate flight logs and all required records.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
