Principal / Sr. Principal Energetics MFG Engineer – Level 3 or Level 4

Works with design, project and quality engineers through the development process to select and implement the best NDT method to ensure product quality at lowest cost. Designs NDT inspection processes, for highly energetic, static sensitive, corrosive, and chemical processes. Develop and produce formal customer reports containing recommendations, computer generated graphics, plots, tables, summaries and comparisons. Implements qualification and change management processes to ensure products or services meet customer requirements. Working at Northrop Grumman is more than just a paycheck. Bachelor's degree with 5 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will be required to obtain additional Level 3 certification to NAS 410 in Eddy Current (ET), Magnetic Particle (MT), Ultrasonic (UT), Radiography (RT), Dye Penetrant (PT). Must pass the 20/25 Snellen or Jaeger No. Bachelor's degree with 8 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 4 years of professional experience. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance A minimum of one Level 3 certification in accordance with NAS 410 in Eddy Current (ET), Ultrasonic (UT), or Radiography (RT). Records of certification and experience are required. Will be required to obtain additional Level 3 certification to NAS 410 in Eddy Current (ET), Magnetic Particle (MT), Ultrasonic (UT), Radiography (RT), Dye Penetrant (PT). Must pass the 20/25 Snellen or Jaeger No. 1 vision test for NAS 410 certification Cross train in other NDT methods. Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software. Skilled in working with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to perform at a high level with minimal supervision and direction, can multi-task and is a self-starter. Hands on experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma tools Background in NDT of Aerospace products. Experience investigating, performing root cause analysis, and recommending corrective measures Cross train in other NDT methods.
