CONFIGURATION MANAGER
Position mission: Maintain configuration integrity, technical baselines, change records, version control, and traceability across infrastructure, database, application, cybersecurity, CyberArk, and development/test environments.
Duties:
- Establish and maintain configuration baselines for supported environments.
- Maintain configuration-item identification and associated technical records.
- Coordinate engineering changes across system administrators, database administrators, software engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and program management.
- Verify that proposed changes have required documentation, technical review, testing, security review, and approval before implementation.
- Maintain change status from initiation through implementation and postdeployment validation.
- Maintain version control for technical documentation, system configurations, scripts, software components, test records, and operating procedures.
- Coordinate configuration reviews and readiness reviews.
- Track IAVA, TCNO, NOTAM, patch, update, and system-modification status as configuration changes.
- Maintain development/test environment configuration controls.
- Verify that development and test assets remain controlled and suitable for validating production changes.
- Record baseline changes following approved modifications.
- Support audits of configuration integrity and change-control compliance.
- Maintain traceability between approved changes, implementation evidence, test results, and post-deployment validation.
- Support hardware/software inventories, renewal tracking, product refresh, and technical documentation associated with acquisitions.
- Provide configuration and change status to the Program Manager and Government stakeholders.
Requirements:
Must demonstrate hands-on configuration-management and change-control duties in an enterprise technical environment. Document control alone is insufficient unless you have also managed technical baselines, configuration items, engineering changes, and implementation evidence.
- Technical baseline and configuration-item management.
- Formal engineering change, change-request, or change-control-board support.
- Version-control administration or governance.
- Configuration audits and reconciliation of baseline discrepancies.
- Traceability from approved change through testing and production validation.
- Configuration management across infrastructure, database, application, and cybersecurity components.
- Development/test environment configuration control.
- Handling of security patches, directives, emergency changes, or time-sensitive technical updates.
Access requirement: The candidate must obtain the NACI required for system access. An SSBI-based trustworthiness determination will apply only if the assigned duties include root access to Government systems.
Anticipated start: September 28, 2026
Primary work location: Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. Occasional work at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
Work schedule: An eight-hour shift scheduled between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time, Monday through Friday. The team must collectively provide overlapping coverage during that window. COOP support may be required, but work will remain within a 40-hour workweek unless the Contracting Officer authorizes otherwise.
