Description
We Breathe Life Into Data
At Komodo Health, our mission is to reduce the global burden of disease. And we believe that smarter use of data is essential to this mission. That’s why we built the Healthcare Map — the industry’s largest, most complete, precise view of the U.S. healthcare system — by combining de-identified, real-world patient data with innovative algorithms and decades of clinical experience. The Healthcare Map serves as our foundation for a powerful suite of software applications, helping us answer healthcare’s most complex questions for our partners. Across the healthcare ecosystem, we’re helping our clients unlock critical insights to track detailed patient behaviors and treatment patterns, identify gaps in care, address unmet patient needs, and reduce the global burden of disease.
As we pursue these goals, it remains essential to us that we stay grounded in our values: be awesome, seek growth, deliver “wow,” and enjoy the ride. At Komodo, you will be joining a team of ambitious, supportive Dragons with diverse backgrounds but a shared passion to deliver on our mission to reduce the burden of disease — and enjoy the journey along the way.
THE OPPORTUNITY AT KOMODO HEALTH
We're looking for a Customer Advocacy & Communications Manager to turn customer wins into the proof points that move healthcare forward. Marketing at Komodo connects the real-world impact of our data to the people who need to hear about it. Customer Advocacy sits at the center of that work, turning strong customer outcomes into stories that build credibility across healthcare and life sciences. This hire makes sure every advocacy moment, from a reference call to a stage at a conference, ties directly back to our mission to reduce the burden of disease.
MISSION
This role exists because customer proof points do not surface themselves. Someone has to build the relationships, spot the right stories, and connect Sales, Customer Success, Communications, and Executive Leadership around them. Without this role, strong customer outcomes stay buried in individual accounts instead of strengthening the brand.
OUTCOMES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have accomplished:
- Built a pipeline of active customer advocates spanning strategic accounts and market segments
- Launched a repeatable process for customer recruitment, approvals, and participation tracking
- Partnered with Sales and Customer Success to convert at least a handful of account wins into references, case studies, or speaking opportunities
- Established a communication cadence that keeps internal teams aware of available advocates and story opportunities
- Delivered award submissions and/or conference nominations built on customer outcomes
- Worked across Marketing to promote the customer stories in social media, on the website, and in sales content.
These are the essential job duties you will be responsible for:
- Build and maintain relationships with customers to identify and cultivate long-term advocacy opportunities
- Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Account teams to surface customers with strong business outcomes
- Manage customer participation across references, case studies, advisory boards, speaking engagements, and media interviews
- Equip internal teams with playbooks, newsletters, and updates on available advocates and reference opportunities
- Coordinate with Corporate Communications and Brand to amplify customer stories through social and thought leadership and the website
- Draft and submit customer award nominations and conference speaking proposals
- Track advocacy activity, customer participation, and program performance across the business
COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS
What you bring to Komodo Health (required):
- 3+ years in customer advocacy, communications, customer marketing, or public relations
- A get-it-done attitude and willingness to pitch in where help is needed.
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, health technology, or another regulated industry
- A track record of building relationships with customers that convert into concrete advocacy outcomes
- Strong writing and communication skills, shown through work like case studies, award submissions, or executive talking points
- Project management skills strong enough to run several advocacy initiatives in parallel without losing momentum
- Comfort working across Sales, Marketing, Communications, and Executive Leadership without formal authority over any of them
- Experience managing a formal advocacy or reference program from the ground up
Expectations of AI use in this role:
- Uses AI tools to draft first passes of case studies, award submissions, and reference materials from raw customer input, then refines for voice and accuracy
- Uses AI to synthesize account notes and CRM data into shortlists of advocacy-ready customers
- Actively looks for ways AI can cut manual work out of the advocacy process, from tracking participation to drafting internal updates, and brings those ideas back to the team rather than waiting to be asked
Additional skills and experience we'd prioritize (nice to have):
- Experience supporting organic social strategy or executive storytelling
- Familiarity with Salesforce and marketing or advocacy technology
- Working knowledge of the healthcare or life sciences ecosystem
