The Learning Impact Specialist is responsible for measuring the effectiveness and business value of learning investments. The role uses data, analytics, learning design principles and Workday Learning insights to evaluate learning outcomes, demonstrate return on investment and support evidence-based decision making across the Learning function. The specialist acts as the link between learning activity, colleague capability, solution design and business performance.

Core Accountabilities 

1. Learning Impact & Evaluation 

  • Own the evaluation of learning programmes, products and initiatives. 
  • Define success measures, KPIs and impact metrics aligned to business objectives. 
  • Monitor learning effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve outcomes. 
  • Apply recognised evaluation methodologies to assess behaviour change, capability growth and business impact. 
  • Ensure learning solutions are designed with clear objectives, measurable outcomes and evaluation requirements from the outset. 

2. Data Analysis & Insight 

  • Analyse learning, performance and business data from multiple sources. 
  • Support and produce dashboards, reports and insights that demonstrate programme effectiveness and return on investment. 
  • Identify trends, risks, performance gaps and opportunities to maximise learning impact. 
  • Translate data into actionable recommendations that inform future learning decisions. 
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of learning and performance data.  

3. Learning Investment & Business Performance 

  • Evaluate the relationship between learning investment, capability development and business results. 
  • Measure ROI and business value of learning programmes. 
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand performance challenges and learning opportunities. 
  • Support prioritisation of learning investment based on organisational impact and measurable outcomes. 
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations to improve colleague and business performance.   

4. Learning Technology & Workday Learning 

  • Act as the subject matter expert for learning measurement and reporting within Workday Learning. 
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting to monitor engagement, completion and programme effectiveness. 
  • Analyse Workday Learning data to identify trends and learner behaviours. 
  • Ensure learning activities are structured to enable effective reporting and impact measurement. 
  • Support data governance, reporting standards and continuous improvement of Workday Learning analytics.  

5. Learning Design & Solution Improvement 

  • Apply learning design principles to shape solutions that are purposeful, accessible and aligned to business outcomes. 
  • Partner with Learning Academy Managers, SMEs and stakeholders to translate performance gaps into practical learning interventions. 
  • Review learning content and solution design to ensure activities support capability growth, behaviour change and measurable impact. 
  • Use evaluation insight and learner feedback to recommend enhancements to existing learning products and future design approaches. 
  • Support the creation of design standards, guidance and quality criteria that enable consistent measurement and continuous improvement.
