RTA Compliance and Optimisation Specialist

About the Opportunity 

We're looking for an experienced RTA Compliance and Optimisation Specialist (two year max term contract) to help shape and support the way we manage rostering, time and attendance across Urban Utilities. Reporting to the Rostering and Time Administration Lead, you'll be the subject matter expert for rostering compliance, workforce management processes and the configuration of our time and attendance systems. This role sits within our People and Capability team and works closely with Operations, Payroll, Employee Relations and Technology teams across the business. 

Success in this role comes from balancing compliance, operational effectiveness and continuous improvement. You'll ensure our rostering practices align with enterprise agreements, awards and organisational requirements, while helping to improve workforce planning, data integrity and user experience across our systems and processes. 

This is an opportunity to play a key role in establishing contemporary rostering and time administration practices that support our people, strengthen compliance and enable the reliable delivery of essential services to our communities. 

What You'll Deliver 

• Lead industrial compliance activities across rostering and time administration, including Better Off Overall Tests (BOOT), interpretation frameworks and compliance assurance. 

• Design, maintain and optimise roster templates, cycles and workforce management configurations that support operational requirements and service delivery outcomes. 

• Partner with Operations, Payroll, Employee Relations and Technology teams to resolve issues, improve processes and maintain data integrity across workforce systems. 

• Deliver testing, quality assurance and release activities that ensure reliable, compliant and effective workforce management solutions. 

• Provide workforce insights and recommendations by analysing rostering, leave, utilisation and compliance data to support informed decision making. 

About You 

• Relevant qualification in Business, Human Resources, Workforce Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. 

• Demonstrated experience in workforce management, rostering, time and attendance or HR operations, including the application of enterprise agreements, awards and compliance requirements. 

• Strong understanding of roster design, workforce planning practices, system configuration and workforce management processes. 

• Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders across operational, people, payroll and technology environments to deliver practical business outcomes. 

• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify risks and recommend improvements. 

• Experience with testing, system administration, process improvement or workforce management technology platforms will be highly regarded.
