Description
Beloit Health System is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Acute Care team. The Inpatient Acute Care RN provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes. We are adding to our team on our Medical Surgical, Special Care Oncology, Advanced Joint Care Center, and Float Pool Departments.

In this position the Registered Nurse will provide primary nursing care for patients in one of our Inpatient Acute Care Units including our Medical Surgical, Special Care Oncology, Advanced Joint Care Center, and Float Pool.
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to hospitalized patients by assessing needs, administering treatments and medications, monitoring patient conditions, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
The Registered Nurse will:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery from a variety of medical or surgical conditions.
- Administer intermittent and continuous IV medications and monitor condition changes to optimize patient recovery and accurately documenting in the EMR.
- The staff nurse plans, coordinates, supervises and provides care for clients throughout their life span within the framework of the well/illness continuum. This includes optimal service in a cost-effective manner.
- Appropriately assesses basic physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families.
- Effectively plans patient care and consistently implements the patient's plan of care.
- Accurately evaluates patient's health status in relation to outcomes of nursing interventions/medical therapies.
- Provides patient/family education appropriately.
- Strictly adheres to infection control policies including body substance isolation and blood born pathogen precautions.
- Actively participates in Quality Improvement program.
- Performs unit specific duties according to established unit-based competencies.
- Completes documentation according to policy.
- Effectively sets goals and priorities for provision of care to a group of patients according to acuity.
- Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting and providing medications to patients; protects patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc.
- Demonstrates ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software application appropriate to position. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable.
- State of Wisconsin nursing licensure, compact license or temporary permit required. (If a compact license, application for a State of Wisconsin nursing license must be initiated in no more than 30 days from start date).
- Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire.
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply proper procedures to Beloit Health System policies.
- Excellent communication and team work skills.
