(Sr) Business Application Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for a Business Application Engineer that is capable of taking the lead in initiatives and projects to strengthen our IT Project Services team in the Tilburg–Eindhoven region. This role is designed as a bridge between several stakeholders and IT.
You will play a key role in project execution, change request management, and operational coordination, while on ocassion also acting as a deputy team lead for the manager of the team. The position ensures that initiatives are delivered efficiently, aligned with business priorities, and properly governed.
As part of the IT organization, you will work closely with Engineers, Operations (Support) teams, Account Management, external partners, and customers to ensure the successful delivery of WMS-related initiatives and continuous improvements.
Your main responsibilities
System expertise
- Expert on the local WMS (Dispatcher)
- Understanding on other applications (TMS, ERP, Customs system) in relation to WMS and the data flow between applications
- Able to understand and design mapping of Interfaces between the WMS and other applications (EDI / API)
- General understanding of databases and sql query language, and reporting.
- General understanding and application of AI tools and other automations (e.g. RPA) applicable in the existing landscape or other processes.
- Translate business requirements into actionable IT deliverables
Delivery support (project and changes)
- Ensure clarity on intake, scope, priorities, timelines, and deliverables (projects and CR pipeline), applying the established governance.
- Monitor progress and proactively manage risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks
- Support structured project communication and reporting towards stakeholders
- Ensure alignment between business needs, IT capacity, and system design
What You Bring:
Team coordination and general support
- Act as deputy of the manager (team lead) on ocassion.
- Support task prioritization and workload coordination within the team, including resolving complex issues and escalations
- Contribute to improving documentation, collaboration, ownership, and overall team performance (continuously improved)
- Identify structural improvement opportunities across processes and systems
What we’re looking for
You are a structured and proactive professional who combines technical skills with coordination capabilities. You can operate between detail and overview, and you are comfortable taking ownership in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree (or comparable experience) in IT, logistics, supply chain, or related field
- Strong understanding of warehouse processes and WMS systems (Blue Yonder Dispatcher preferred)
- Proven experience in project coordination, delivery, or senior engineering roles
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to structure work, prioritize effectively, and drive execution
- Comfortable working in an international and cross-functional environment
Desirable skills
- Experience with end-to-end project delivery in logistics IT environments
- Knowledge of TMS, ERP systems, and/or integrations (EDI/API)
- Experience with change management processes and governance
- Basic technical knowledge (SQL, interfaces, system configuration)
- Previous experience in a senior / lead / coordinator role
