Role Overview:
The Line Lead works closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the production lines as assigned. They ensure that all employees are working efficiently and safely. This position also requires training and mentoring for new employees with the Tredit Tire & Wheels culture of safety and excellence. These duties may vary to include some or all of the following job responsibilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Planning, organizing, and directing activities within assigned production lines ensuring daily objectives are completed.
- Lead employees to perform in a proficient manner, providing motivation through personal example and interpersonal skills.
- Communicate with Warehouse Supervisor and other departments or managers to ensure that orders are fulfilled according to schedule.
- Monitor employee attendance and productivity and take steps to improve performance where necessary.
- Promote the achievement of plant goals and objectives within assigned team.
- Monitor staff and all proceedings inside warehouse and manage issues in a professional manner.
- Utilize the ERP system to ensure material availability in support of production requirements.
- Support and uphold established Tredit Tire & Wheel policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, and safety environment.
- Promote self-improvement in assigned tasks and always maintain a clean and safe work environment by sweeping, cleaning, and removing trash.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and needed.
Requirements
Key Performance Indicators:
- Ensure build cycle times are being maintained
- Ensure scrap is being separated and recorded while driving processes to reduce scrap rate
- Maintain OTD within scope of control at or above 95%
Required Education/Experience and Skills:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred.
- Forklift experience required.
- Experience in all areas of warehouse operation: receiving, warehousing, and shipping.
- 1-3 years of leadership experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Preferred proficiency in ERP and Warehouse Management Systems.
- Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively; willingness to be part of a team.
- Understand the daily work schedule and delivery requirements; perform work to achieve on time/accurate delivery.
- Well organized, with the ability to track multiple activities involving numerous details.
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of oversight.
- Ability to work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Capacity to handle prolonged periods of sedentary work or physical activity depending on job demands.
- Must be able to occasionally stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to frequently use hands, talk or hear.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50-75 pounds at times.
- The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.
