Overview
Susquehanna is looking for an Employee Services Team Lead to join our Sydney office. In this role, you'll lead the team responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of our workplace, from front desk operations and office facilities to employee experience initiatives, ensuring our people and visitors have a consistently high-quality experience.
You'll manage a small team directly, set the standard for service delivery across the office, and act as the key point of coordination between Employee Services, Facilities, and our IT Helpdesk. You'll also own operational budgets, support our catering function, and play an active role in workplace health and safety.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys balancing people management with operational problem-solving, and who takes pride in running a well-organised, high-functioning workplace.
What you'll do
- Manage the Employee Services team, setting clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability, and leading the hiring process for new team members alongside recruitment.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and support ongoing training and upskilling to maintain high performance across the team.
- Oversee front desk operations, including visitor experience, mail and communications handling, and meeting room coordination, ensuring consistent coverage during working hours and public holidays.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and support for international visitors.
- Manage administrative processes such as expense management, stationery supplies, courier services, and new starter setup.
- Oversee office facilities and amenities, including cleaning, waste services, and kitchen equipment, liaising with the Facilities Manager on external providers such as building services, air conditioning, and pest control.
- Work with the Facilities Manager and Helpdesk team to maintain workplace technology, including video conferencing systems and printers.
- Support the Employee Services Catering team by overseeing quality and safety standards, vendor management, procurement, and continuous improvement of food offerings.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, including catering and other employee and office services, balancing cost efficiency with quality.
- Lead employee experience initiatives, including recognition programs, events, and team activities, ensuring consistency with global Employee Services policies.
- Actively participate in the Work Health and Safety Committee, monitoring and escalating occupational health and safety matters as needed.
What we’re looking for
- Mid to senior-level experience in office management, workplace services, or facilities operations, including direct people leadership.
- A track record of managing teams, including performance management, coaching, and hiring.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Facilities, IT, Catering, and broader Employee Services functions.
- Experience managing operational budgets and vendor relationships.
- A practical understanding of workplace health and safety practices and committee involvement.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What's in it for you
- Our flat hierarchy enables you to drive meaningful impact, by leveraging your expertise and taking ownership.
- Private healthcare and gym allowances, plus wellness initiatives.
- Additional leave entitlements including marriage leave and 2 bonus days annually.
- Fully stocked kitchen, with daily breakfast and lunch.
- Regular social, sporting and community events including annual poker tournament.
- Matched donations and corporate discounts.
