This temporary position is with NC DHHS – Public Health, Chronic Disease & Injury, located at 65 Moore Drive, Durham NC, Durham County. 

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $34.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). 

The IVP Branch of the North Carolina Division of Public Health currently has 7 federal grants and seeks an experienced financial manager with background in grant management for a full-time, temporary assignment. The selected candidate for this role will assist with grants and financial management, including document preparation, budget allocation and tracking, assisting with contracts preparation, entry, invoicing, and monthly reporting; overseeing travel planning and reimbursement processing, office management and organization, completing and tracking temporary orders, along with other administrative and financial duties.

Focus of position will be on the preparation and submission of the Rape Prevention and Education continuation grant and contract renewals. The candidate selected for this role will:

* Prepare grant materials for submission
* Prepare budgets, budget allocations, schedules, and forecasts
* Oversee contracts processing from execution through invoicing and closure
* Review federal grant expenditures
* Review monthly invoices and expenses
* Oversee travel planning and reimbursement
* Assist with temp order submissions
* Assist with office management and organization
* And complete other duties as assigned

  • Experienced in financial and grant management, working with federal grant budgets and contracts
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite products, especially Excel, Open Window, and SharePoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Highly Preferred:

Knowledge of state systems (North Carolina Financial Systems)

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or other discipline related to the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive related experience, two years of which should be in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
