Rig Manager – Deep Drilling

We are currently looking for a Rig Manager – Deep Drilling Land Rigs (3000 HP / HPHT) to join our client's operations in Kuwait.

Position Overview:

The Rig Manager – Deep Drilling will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling operations on deep drilling land rigs in Kuwait. The role will provide overall leadership for rig operations, ensuring operational excellence, equipment reliability, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Rig Operations:

• Direct and oversee all drilling and rig operations to ensure safe and efficient execution.
• Ensure drilling activities are performed in accordance with approved drilling programs and operational procedures.
• Monitor rig performance and optimize operational efficiency while minimizing non-productive time (NPT).
• Coordinate daily drilling activities with Drilling Superintendents and onshore support teams.
• Ensure proper well control practices are maintained at all times.

Operational Excellence:

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance drilling performance and equipment utilization.
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions when required.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance activities.

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to well control procedures.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and emergency response activities.

Leadership:

• Lead and supervise all rig personnel and contractors on site.
• Mentor and develop crew competency through training and coaching.
• Coordinate with Toolpushers, Drilling Engineers, service companies, and contractors.
• Foster effective collaboration within multicultural work environments.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma in Petroleum, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8+ years of drilling rig operations experience.
• At least 3 years in a Rig Manager, Senior Toolpusher, or equivalent leadership role.
• Extensive experience supporting deep drilling land rigs (3000HP, HPHT, and complex drilling operations).
• Strong understanding of drilling operations, well control, and rig equipment.
• Current IWCF or IADC WellSharp certification is preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills in English.
• Candidates from Canada, United States, Europe, Eastern Europe, Australia, China are preferred.
