Summary of Job Duties:

The duties of this position include teaching courses in both face-to-face and online formats within the School of Criminal Justice and Criminology. The tenure-track nature of the role would also encompass the standard academic responsibilities of conducting research and scholarship, serving on institutional committees, and providing service to the university. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

• Ph.D. or ABD in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field;
• A J.D. (law degree) is not appropriate for this position.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

• Strong expertise in courts and sentencing, juvenile delinquency/justice, or statistics.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach online or face-to-face formats at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral level;
• Work positively with faculty, staff, students, and the community;
• Mentor students across the curriculum;
• Conduct and disseminate scholarly research;
• Serve the department, the university, and the community;
• Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Commitment to teaching and mentoring students;
• Willingness to teach in both online and face-to-face formats;
• Active research agenda in Criminology or Criminal Justice;
