Salary: $15000 - $20000 annually
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain MySQL databases.
- Manage NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, or Couchbase.
- Monitor database performance and optimize SQL queries and indexes.
- Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
- Configure and maintain MySQL replication and high-availability solutions.
- Troubleshoot production database issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patching.
- Implement database security, user management, and access controls.
- Automate routine database administration using Bash or Python scripting.
- Work closely with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and performance.
Required Skills:
- 4–8 years of experience in database administration.
- Strong expertise in MySQL administration.
- Hands-on experience with one or more NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Couchbase, etc.).
- Experience with database performance tuning and query optimization.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery tools.
- Experience with replication and high-availability configurations.
- Strong Linux administration skills.
- Scripting experience with Bash or Python.
- Good understanding of database security and monitoring.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to PostgreSQL is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of AWS RDS or other cloud database services (not mandatory).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or Nagios.
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes is an advantage.
