Faculty - Information Technology Operations

Provide instruction (classes and labs) within specific programs; assist academic administrators with curriculum development, student advising, program enrollment; and provide institutional support and community service. Fully support the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Instruction: Deliver assigned classes in accordance with college loading policy and course objectives. Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and other course materials. Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation as required. Maintain a safe, quality classroom/ lab, including equipment, supplies, inventory and maintenance.

Professional Development: Participate in professional development or other activities that may include in-services, courses, or seminars to advance instructional and technical skills as well as knowledge within the field of study.

Community Service: Participate in community service activities on behalf of the college to advance the college’s relationships within its service area as appropriate for department/school.

Institutional Support: Provide institutional support as expected by college administration that may include curriculum development, classroom management, accreditation efforts, committee and task force assignments, attendance at commencement or other activities that are college-wide or specific to the department/school of the faculty member.

Advising: Provide student advising support as expected by college administration that may include assistance during pre-and regular registration periods and during posted office hours.

Program Management: Maintain office hours in accordance with the faculty loading guidelines in the Academic Support and Operations Manual (ASOM). Support Program Chair in program management activities.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Assist in the recruitment of students.
Develop community/industry contacts.
Serve and participate in campus, regional, and College-wide professional and community activities, committee meetings, and task forces.
Participate in student recognition ceremonies. Maintain budget requirements.

Tools/Equipment Needed: Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction. The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned.

A qualified faculty member in Cyber Security/Information Assurance (CSIA) meets the program standard through two routes:

1. Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in information assurance or related field as appropriate to the program; or

2. Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory principle(s) level in information assurance or related field as appropriate to the program;

*CSIA 105 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching CSIA 105 meets the Cyber Security/Information Assurance (CSIA) program standard and holds a valid, non-expired CompTIA Security+ certification or a valid non-expired higher level cybersecurity certification or two years of documented server administration professional employment.

The Following Certifications are required: : A+, Security+, Cisco Academy Instructor, CCNA, Cisco CyberOps, Linux+, CySA+, CWTS or Higher, AWS Cloud Practitioner

 

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Information Technology or related computing field.

Any of the following certifications preferred: Project+, CISSP, CASP, CEH, CHFI, CompTia SecAI,  AWS AI Practitioner, Project-based learning experience

Copies of transcripts will be required at time of interview. Original transcripts will be required at time of hire.

Compensation: $60,000-$65,000 for a 9-month contract (dependent on education and experience). Additional summer and overload contracts available based on enrollment.

Selected candidate for employment will be subject to background checks, including a criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.
