Position Overview

The Part-Time Custodial Staff is responsible for helping maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment throughout the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton. This position will assist with general maintenance, cleaning, facility upkeep, and other tasks as needed to support the daily operations of the Club. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, able to work independently, and comfortable performing a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with keeping classrooms, offices, common areas, restrooms, hallways, and other areas clean and orderly.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and clean surfaces as needed.
• Empty trash and recycling and maintain appropriate disposal areas.
• Clean and sanitize frequently used areas and high-touch surfaces.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down rooms, furniture, and equipment for programs and events.
• Report maintenance, safety, plumbing, electrical, or facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with minor repairs and upkeep, such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, assembling furniture, and other basic tasks within the employee's skill level.
• Help maintain outdoor areas, including picking up debris and assisting with general grounds upkeep as needed.
• Monitor supplies and notify the supervisor when cleaning or maintenance supplies need to be replenished.
• Follow all safety procedures when using cleaning products, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for youth, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
• Assist with emergency or weather-related facility needs as directed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Standing, walking, run/jog, leaning, bending, sitting. Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, custodial, cleaning, or general facility experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, hand tools, and general maintenance preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Ability to interact professionally with staff, youth, volunteers, parents/guardians, and visitors.
• Must be able to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Must be able to pass required background screening consistent with Boys & Girls Club policies.

Schedule

Part-time hours based on the needs of the facility and Club operations. Schedule may include weekdays, evenings, and occasional weekends or special events as needed.

Compensation: $16-$17 per hour
