Job Description:

The GWIM Investment Stewardship Manager supports the day-to-day execution, governance, monitoring, and operational management of the GWIM Investment Stewardship program.

The role is responsible for helping ensure proxy voting integrity, vendor oversight, stewardship controls, monitoring activities, recordkeeping, reporting, and governance administration across GWIM platforms. The manager will play a critical role in maintaining operational effectiveness and regulatory readiness by coordinating stewardship processes, supporting committee governance, overseeing key service providers, monitoring adherence to policies and controls, and assisting with stewardship technology initiatives.

This job is responsible for implementing and monitoring operational risk management policies, procedures, standards and programs with enterprise-wide impact mindset and or focused for specific departments within a business group. Key responsibilities include in depth knowledge and expertise of risk to be able to strategically support business managers and peers to follow enforced risk/regulatory practices. Job expectations include balancing business strategy with appropriate risk management controls and strong communication skills with teammates and impacted parties.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day stewardship processes supporting proxy voting governance and oversight activities.
  • Monitor adherence to proxy voting policies, governance standards, and stewardship procedures.
  • Administer proxy voting controls, exception management processes, and quality assurance reviews.
  • Manage relationships with proxy service providers, governance research firms, and stewardship vendors.
  • Coordinate governance activities for the GWIM Fiduciary Proxy Oversight Committee, including agendas, materials, meeting records, and action tracking.
  • Maintain stewardship documentation, voting records, engagement records, governance documentation, and audit support materials.
  • Support stewardship reporting and management dashboards.
  • Coordinate monitoring and oversight activities associated with proxy voting risk assessments, NFRR controls, and investment governance reviews.
  • Assist with stewardship technology enhancements, workflow management, automation initiatives, and reporting capabilities.
  • Support regulatory examinations, internal audits, compliance reviews, and control testing activities.
  • Escalate operational, governance, policy, or vendor-related concerns to leadership.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Legal, Technology, Operations, and Product functions.
  • Coordinate the regulatory filing process, including the annual N-PX filing, to ensure accurate and timely submission.
  • Monitor client delegation workflows, self-vote options, and exception processing.
  • Coordinate training and education for internal teams on proxy processes.

Required skills:

  • 8 years of experience in governance, investment operations, proxy voting, fiduciary administration, risk management, compliance, asset management, wealth management, or related financial services functions.
  • Strong understanding of governance processes, controls, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting committees, governance forums, audits, or regulatory reviews.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and operational processes.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Experience working within highly regulated financial services environments.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting proxy voting programs, stewardship functions, or governance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of fiduciary governance, investment adviser activities, or wealth management operations.
  • Experience with governance reporting, workflow tools, and stewardship technology platforms.
  • Experience supporting control testing, risk monitoring, or audit response activities.
  • Familiarity with proxy advisory firms and governance research providers.

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$140,000.00 - $205,700.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
