Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Patient Service Representative Lead, you will partner with clinic leadership to oversee the patient service team, providing comprehensive clerical/office support within a physician clinic.
Every day you will assist with reception, telephone management, medical records, charge entry, referrals, and information retrieval. You will also facilitate communication and collaboration with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care and the organizational mission.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional organizational and clerical skills, meticulous attention to detail in medical record management, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate to ensure high-quality patient service and support clinic operations.
- Resolves problems, ensures compliance with medical regulations and office standards for quality patient care and customer service.
- Assists with overseeing patient service representatives in accordance with policies and procedures, and work guidelines.
- Assists in preparing work schedules to ensure adequate staff for patient volume.
- Responsible to partner with management team and HR for recruiting, hiring, orienting and training new staff members.
- Greet patients/caregivers and provide whatever assistance needed in a manner that reflects the high quality of services with the understanding that the provision of quality medical care requires active teamwork and professional conduct.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Function effectively within inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision making to achieve quality patient care.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of experience working in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance payers
- Previous work experience with basic office and computer skills, filing, telephone answering, reception, and basic knowledge of computer software
Preferred
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or physician office
