Role overview:

Design, build, test and maintain software components and integrations that support ESCS capability delivery. The Developer works within a multidisciplinary agile team and follows approved architecture, engineering, security and quality standards.

The role you will play:

• Turn agreed stories and designs into working, supportable software.
• Collaborate with colleagues across analysis, architecture, testing, data and infrastructure.
• Contribute to a healthy engineering culture through review, documentation and continuous improvement.

Primary responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain applications, APIs, integrations and supporting components.
• Write clean, secure and testable code using agreed patterns and standards.
• Create and maintain unit tests and contribute to integration test automation.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, estimation and backlog refinement.
• Use Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines to build and deploy changes.
• Investigate defects and support root-cause analysis.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to operational readiness.
• Continuously improve knowledge of the platform, domain and engineering toolchain.

Required skills and capabilities:

• Software development in one or more relevant languages
• API development and integration fundamentals
• SQL and data access fundamentals
• Secure coding practices
• Unit testing and debugging
• Git and collaborative code review
• CI/CD awareness
• Agile delivery and user story implementation
• Code quality tooling and documentation
• Problem solving and clear communication

Required experience:

• Practical experience developing and testing software in a team environment.
• Experience using source control and structured development practices.
• Experience delivering against defined requirements or user stories.

Desired experience:

• Azure or AWS services.
• Enterprise integrations or SaaS platforms.
• Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment awareness.
• Containers, messaging or event-driven systems.

Pay Range:

£61,500.00-£78,800.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
